HM122 Electric Winch Raises Mill Head

I put a badlands winch on my Woodland Mills HM122 to raise and lower the mill head. This video details the process along the way.

Nick , I know this is almost a year old but ....Great Video and thanks for link of the bearings ! Question: Have you by chance checked on alternate replacement belts for the hm122 ?? Thanks

Thanks. I never had to replace my belts but I would probably just get those direct from WM.

@@nicksnextproject535 Thanks for the quick response, Mine is a 2022 model and having issues with lube valve adjuster either not enough or too much with temp changes. Floated a blade off a few days ago and scuffed the follower belt so was just curious if alternate belts were found. I'm not happy with being charged 3% on my card for every purchase from WM Canada. Guess I'll have to do the automotive way and measure the belts and buy by the length/width. Thanks Again ! Keep up the good work.

@@kevinowens5430 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/btJhpNCSs5-ooKM.html This video says its a BX71 for the drive belt but yeah just double check the dimensions. On the valve, I tried a ball valve and it didnt work much better. I think the valve style that WM uses is the right type of design to get a very small amount of water but I agree it is finicky in my opinion.

Make your winch drum larger.Cut a piece of pipe the diameter you want and cut it in half the length of the pipe/tube and weld it in the winch drum

Could a resistor be used in this circuitry to lower the voltage to say 9volts, to slow the winch down and reduce the sensitivity of motion while bumping up or down?

That I dont know for sure but it would be worth looking into.

there must be som kind of potetiometer/resistor that you can turn left or right to stepplessly lower or raise the saw head. Also self centering to zero when relelased.
