An interesting model.....I would be interested to know what radio he was using.....My submarine built from scratch in 1973 used a WALTRON 1+1 ( orange frequency )....I later worked for Ron Donahue at WALTRON ELECTRONICS and upgraded the radio to a WALTRON 2+1 (red frequency ) In those days we only had 27 megs. The last time my submarine sailed was alongside full size oberon class S/M when i served on HMS Odin. It is now retired but on display in my small submarine museum in orkney. It is a British "U" Class S/M ....3ft long but painted (wrongly) in pacific colours (green /white casing...black hull. I painted it like this so i could see it better when underwater on the macclesfield canal....i put the small lead acid batteries too far forward ...so it was never well balanced ...but it did dive and surface. I later displayed it once at Eaton Park model S/M day in Norfolk in the mid 1990s but only static...it is too old now to sail and i would not want to lose it..............wishing everyone ....all the very best....mike Ilett.
