Nice model. The 1/1 was capable of 33 knots plus (probably a conservative estimate) so hopefully the model can do the same.

Here's an idea, get camera down at ankle level and have the operator do a few drive-by passes at flank speed. Instead we get an aircraft carrier acting like a runabout....

i take footage from different angles, however not all footage can be used for multiple reasons so i go with what i have. there are video's already uploaded but not live yet that have low level camera work. i only post to youtube one video, sometimes 2 a week. i think there are 9 or so ready but not live, some that only have low angle footage and no high angle etc.

What are the dimensions of the model? Motor size, battery size and so forth? As much as everyone loves scale speed, it usually requires over-scale speed to create a realistic bow wave and wake. Can it go a little faster?

Oh my GOSH how did I never see this master-piece before now... OP this E-boot ist a genuine work of art! In the USA (where I am) the old JFK type PT boat models have always been noticed, I built an r/c one way back in 1979 from the Lindberg 1/32 kit (yep it was around then too, same box art and everything, just many fewer options you could add). But the German Schnellboot topped the American Elco boats by a mile. Probably the finest example of superb small ship design ever made. There are really so few details on the E-boats, how they were built, the engineering features, how formidable they were against an enemy fleet. Strengths and weaknesses of the ship. How the crews felt about serving on a Schnellboot. What secret weapons were ever put on board if any. Anyway OP, this is a fine model, indeed! Even more so because, not too many works of art are radio controlled lol

My great grandfather served on the Agincourt, I have all his old diaries of every day of service during WW1 including the battle of Jutland. Nice to see your model.

My favorite is the Italian torpedo boat but really all of models are really good and everyone did a great job.

6:57 Zara had most probably a red hull: only Fiume among the Zara Class ship had the green one as only the ship built in Trieste and Venice had access to the green anti fouling which was made by a chemical plant in the same area. Livorno and La Spezia had access to more common Red anti fouling. For the same reasons, Roma and Vittorio Veneto had a green Hull, while Littorio and Impero had the Red paint. It might happen that a ship dry docked in Venice or Trieste was repainted Green there, but it is a case by case situation. For some reason for example the RN Giulio Cesare had a green hull as it was transferred to the URSS after WWII, most probably having been dry docked in the Adriatic during the war.

I was stationed on this ship from 1970. To 1974 as a Boiler Technician, in number 4 fireroom. It was a shame to find out it was cut up for scrap.

G'day to you! my Kid Brother back in the UK makes Bespoke RC Ships for folk,I think the best he has built is a1/35 American Barge made to transport Fighter Aircraft from Island to Island in the South Seas ,it has a Corsair Fighter on board!

I'm repairing the same pt boat but in 1/24 scale with the same rudder set up . But cant find anything about it anywhere. And it all needs repairing do you know if the parts can still be bought or were they hand made . Any help would be appreciated.

i believe you can buy guns, torp tubes etc online from 3d prinint services. there are also some companies that do resin moulds etc. it depends what you are after, what sort of budget. are you on facebook? as there are a few mtb groups you can join who will be able to guide you. what parts are you looking for and i can ask around.
