Really nice machine. I almost bought a Hobart, though the much smaller 140. I picked up a Lincoln instead off of crag's list. Have you done any aluminum welding yet?

eviltwinx Thanks. I also have the 140, but you can't go wrong with Lincoln. I've done some aluminum welding with it and I'm pleased with the results so far.

that's not a dual feed, dual feed had 2 sets of drive rolls, if you had only one wheel you couldn't feed anything, but never the less a solid machine

it has two grooves in each wheel for 2 different sizes of wire

Correct , I’ve got the same machine and it has 2 grooves .030 and .035

A dual groove wheel....not drive. You can gave a dual groove wheel on youre dual drive...

Do you still recommend this machine and have you had any problems? I found one on CL for 1200 no spool gun. Is there another welder you would look at buying today?

This has been a great machine and I have made a lot of money with it. The spool holder broke a while back but was able to fix it. $1200 is OK, but I would try to talk him down to under $1000. I don't know what is out there today but in 2014 this was easily the best deal out there. At that time I did a ton of research. The Miller equivalent was under powered and the Lincoln cost way more. Hobart is Miller's "B" brand and share some of the same parts. Awesome machine in my opinion.

RP Mechanics I’m a welding student trying to get into welding as a career, wanting to be an independent traveling welder, do you recommend Hobart welders? I wanted to get the engine driven Hobart and just wanted your personal opinion on this kind of brand. Thanks!
