Hobbits and tiny houses! Two of my favorite things merged into one super cool retreat… What’s not to love?!? Excellent work. The homes are beautiful. Those round doors are the perfect transition into middle earth. Thanks for sharing:)

I agree! I feel the area around the houses feels too much like a parking lot. Some natural landscaping would be a great addition. Maybe they just haven't gotten around to it yet. ♥

I am not a traveler, especially at this point in my life, but if l were this incredible vision would be at the top of my list. My only concern would be having to leave the magic behind when it is time to go home. And l am not unmindful of the incredible planning and hard work that went into creating this experience. Well done!

This place is so sweet. I'm an old hippie, so I'd fit into that place well. I'm disabled, so a place with no steps and no loft bedroom would be great.

I love Joe and Justin's vision of the Mountain Shire. It's a work in progress, but they've come a long way from when it was just land. A lot of work has gone into it to. Randy Jones of Incredible Tiny Homes did a great job of understanding that vision and building the Hobbit Tiny homes to match! Thanks for another great tour!

I'm usually a fan of the usual cookie-cutter style homes where there's all these perfectly customised cabinets etc. So I didn't expect myself to fall in love with this Hobbit shire. There's this charm to them~ omg I just wanna stay in any one of them and grow veggies n flowers and play with woodland creatures all day.

Maybe we should start our own down here. What I really like, beside all the lovely homes, was our tour guide. He had such a laid back easy going personality I could feel myself start to slow down as he spoke. That's a life. And right now I could not pick just one favourite home.

Love the houses but I really love the coziness of a fireplace or woodstove. Kinda disappointing there aren't any here..But I would be so excited to stay here. So much thought has gone into all the decor, storage & exteriors...great job, everyone!

Yes, I'm guessing since they are rentals, it's safer to keep the fires in the fire pit.

They should take out the gravel and create a wild garden all around the space. I think the gravel really detracts from the shire look.

I'd cut them a little slack... I'm sure they dream and aspire to one day have beautiful gardens but there are a lot of factors and work to make that happen. Considering they are just starting out, within the first year of being open for business, I'd say they've accomplished a hell of a lot! Obviously, their priority is going to be getting up and running and getting all the homes done first, before landscaping. Also it takes a lot of time and money to build a landscape like that. So, from a business standpoint it makes more sense to open first and expand and decorate as you grow. Other things to consider, it is basically a glorified campground... so sometimes practicality trumps over aesthetic, especially from a maintenance standpoint. Also, keep in mind, it's winter when filming this... so everything's dead right now anyways, so you probably don't see the full extent of work they've put into the landscape.

But did they really need to remove ALL the trees, grass, and shrubs? I've never done construction, so I don't know if that's necessary. It just seems strange to build hobbit houses in a forest and remove everything natural.

I had seen a little of Mountainshire when Randy Jones visited - - but this was a more complete look at something I wish I could do. As always love seeing examples of the tiny house movement.

FYI if you spend time in the woods you can find deer antlers from time to time. But we have no problem hunting them for food either. :) love the house concept.

I love these tiny homes (BUT THE CARS/TRAFFIC) - yes, the sound is loud and can even be heard in this video! So sad they didn't find a plot inland from the busy road.

The "homes" themselves are very charming, but when the video pans back to show them in situ, there is no grounding of the homes into their environment. Hope the proprietors of this "rt 66 tipi motel" vibe do more planting or landscaping to tie their beautiful creations into the landscape! Blessings

I love this how lovely ❤but i definitely think that they should have instead of putting them on what looks like a caravan park or parking lot because of all the gravel they could have just created little pathways and small roads to each hobbit hole and placed more plants 🪴 and trees 🌳🌳 around and about in and around all the houses and also small fencing around each one creating small front gardens ect ect... uno they could have studied the beginning of the movie and looked at how they were all set out and actually created a real life shire of their own because they are already 80% there its just the smallest changes and tweeks and this place could be absolutely phenomenal also if they put grass on the roofs it would make them even better they wouldn't even need to use real grass and could use Astro terf or something along those sorts of lines uno but I think it could be even more amazing than it already is man x

This is spectacular, I absolutely love it. It is like you get transferred to somewhere completely different, and it is just excellent and so relaxing to witness. I would almost say a perfect way to spend after a long and stressful day at work, you get entirely sucked into the beauty and present moment. Thank you for creating this and sharing it with us :)
