My goodness, it was so cringe, yet at the same time it felt like a trainwreck, you want to avert your eyes yet you keep looking to see what will happen. Also he didnt learn squat from his mistake. New HH 2.0 and he plays Alpha Legion, i bet he doesnt give a damn about the lore and will only play that legion because of the shenanigans it can do

Cheers! To answer Northern’s concern: There is plenty of customization in One Page Rules because you can get access to their Unit Creator which lets you mix and match stats and abilities. THIS is what makes the game more balanced because all the units are grounded in the same point calculations and both players have equal access.

That story about the teenagers is not as good an ending as you might think. Clearly that person has learned nothing, even as an adult this person still says "I can't help but smile about two teenagers fighting" spoken like a true asshole, as usual the bully remembers their tormenting as "just kids being kids" the person being bullied doesn't feel that way.

What I hate most about the political landscape these days is that whenever someone is accused of any kind of ism or phobia or called a Nazi I can't just take their word for it. I have to figure out if they're actually a bad person or if they just have a different opinion then the accuser.

I consider my self left leaning and agree that the term Nazi is thrown out far too easily. There is a character in Gotham Central by Brubaker that says something along the lines of, as soon as you bring the Nazi's into your argument or liken someone to the Nazi's, you've lost. I read that as not necessarily because the person or action wasn't Nazi like, but because of exactly what you said, its just too bombastically evil to really be taken on face value and just enflames the argument without really moving it forward.

Hi Simon! Maybe it wasn't clear from my writing (as I said at the beginning English is not my main language) but that was my internal thinking when I was 15, not what I think now. So yeah, I wasn't really self aware as a teenager and I literally admitted of being a little shit in the first paragraph

I'd wager that if you play Skaven and do not yell "DOOMWHEEL" everytime you use it or go "All according to plan yes-yes" when your Arch-Warlock deals itself 32 mortal wounds, then you are not playing the faction properly.

One page rules is the reason I’ve spent nearly $1,000 on GW models. So I’d say their in “co-opetition”. After playing good, fast, and free OPR rules I just can’t go back to the whole army activation, gotcha stratagems, and buy expensive textbooks that are outdated next year GW rules.

103 in carson city NV. This heat over here is just fucked. But our brothers and sisters across the pond are not built for this heat . the buildings over there have not ac and are not insulated like our homes and buildings over here in the states.... That doesn't change the fact that it is hot as balls over here .

Here's a positive tournament story: Fantasy tournament at Warhammer World was advertised in my local branch, who like many were laying on a coach if they got enough attendees. I was 13, and really wanted to go. Manager (cool dude) was like "It's not really your scene, you play for fun". I was like, my parents will play, I'll get driven there with my friends, play multiple games, eat lunch in Bugmans, AND see the museum. What's NOT fun about that?! I went. Can't remember exactly, but I no I lost a few, won a few. Annihilated my opponent in one. Michael Owen who ran Bugmans at the time made my lunch fresh cos I didn't like any of the set menu options (we'd met him on previous visits, top bloke). From when I boarded the coach at 6:30, I didn't stop grinning until after school the following Monday. And funnily enough, that was with Blood Dragon vampires too!

And when he said "no time for small talk, just silence waiting for the ref to give the signal". Like they Olympic sprinters or something 🤣🤣🤣. It's like, dudes, it's toy soldiers!

In our defence; - acclimatisation is definitely a thing, we're not used to this heat whereas you are. - our infrastructure isn't built for this heat. Very few homes have any kind of AC and the most have little ventilation.

Obnoxiously competitive players are the worst and the reason I only played Warhammer and Battletech with friends. Win or lose I still have fun as long as I get to roll dice and blow shit up. I remember playing Battletech at a gaming con in the 90s. The guy commanding our mech lance was loud and so focused on antagonising a player on the opposition side rather than mission tactics, he ultimately was the sole reason we failed the mission. Other than that I still had fun blasting limbs off enemy mechs.

I use to work on vehicles, heavy equipment, & HVAC systems while outdoors in 43+ (110F+) with 90%+ humidity. I feel your discomfort. Unfortunately for you most of Europe is ill equipped at cooling indoors.

I've been playing One Page Rules and it's actually rather enjoyable. It's to a point where I'm using it in my Pathfinder game for army rules along with the Birthright system from AD&D to run kingdoms, because Ultimate Campaign is trash. It's always interesting when girls approach me, being that I'm rather tall and apparently I'm not bad looking. Who would have thought? Anyway, it's not that I don't pick up on the hints, it's that I'm ace. A lot of the other guys in my play group, at work, etc. don't really get it and don't know why I don't get after it. I'm just... not interested? I'd rather roll dice, pick up models, put paint on plastic. I see a girl and someone else might say "that's a very pretty girl" or "she seems interested in you." In my mind, "yes, that is a female." Like, the way the rest of you think about women is just beyond bizarre to me.

oh damn this was a mental trip of an episode. 1st dude was a prime example of how annoying politics can be....especially when inserted into a gaming space via an edgelord teenager. dear fucking god. I'm a bit of a leftist myself...and I love debating in a political space..but keep that shit out of warhammer / 40k / gaming. we all know it's satire of a theocratic system gone insane....but just enjoy it...heed the warnings if you want, but that's about where I drop it. now on that last story....holy fuck....it's fucking insane thinking that ..."every man that has been nice to you is trying to fuck you"....I might've thought that way when I was a virgin teenager...but that's some insecure bullshit. Best advice I can give is be confident. don't be a creeper and you'll get laid. It's one of those things in life where the harder you try the less likely you'll succeed.
