This is my own personal review after ordering a Hockerty.com made to measure blazer. With made to measure, you put in your body measurements and then they make the clothing to your body measurements to get a better fit.

Thanks! I’m looking into a company called tweedmakers. I might order a suit from them and do a video on it. There aren’t many reviews for them other then the sponsored ones so i think it might be good.

I’ve ordered Hockerty before & I have a jacket on order with them now! From the first suit I bought when they were Tailor 4 Less, they’ve upgraded their fabric selections dramatically! I cannot even find my 36 Long size as a standard off the rack size!

I have sloped shoulders. Makes OTR difficult. I basically have to either get stretch fabric or get everything tailored.

Thanks for posting! So I want to eventually buy a suit from these guys, & I want to know are the size algorithms accurate or did you need to tweak them? And did you say "fake pockets"?? 🤔

I gave them my measurements. It came out nice. Yeah, was actually a real pocket. Most made to order suits have the pockets seen closed. They actually had it double sewn so when I opened the stitching, it was still closed. I had to open the second row (which was a first for me)

Blue suit definitely looks better than the other one. I've been looking for a casual canvas blazer, and haven't found anywhere that offers anything along this lines. You have any advice?

What is more important? Price or quality? Oliver Wicks has the best quality that I’ve seen so far. Hockerty has great quality at a lower price. That is of the ones I’ve tried. If you need to keep cost down as low as possible, you could check out Men’s Warehouse Clearance. You can usually find an OK one for under $8 and then take it to a local tailor shop to have it taken in or out. You will always need the arm holes raised. Might need the sleeves shorter or longer. Focus primarily on making sure the shoulders fit. The rest can be altered for cheaper.

How's the padding in the shoulders. From the video, it looks like the shoulders are just lightly padded. I hate big, boxy padding.

There are alot of bad reviews on hockerty when I googled it up on google.

I’ve ordered several things from them. It’s not high quality. It’s good. But needs more attention to detail. They need more attention on their button threading. Buttons on all of my hockerty jackets are very loose. Check out my Jos Bank reviews. Might be a bit more helpful. Better quality. Good prices.

I’m at around day 9 of hearing nothing from Hockerty about my suits status and I’m starting to get a bit nervous. At one place on their site it’s mentioned that “tailoring takes 10-12 days” and “shipping takes 3-5”, I figured the longest I’d be kept waiting was 17 days. What they fail to mention is the period before tailoring, the “CHECKING ORDER” phase, where you’re kept in the dark about the status of your suit. I figure, “well, COVID and all that” and give em the benefit of doubt. Figure I give them a call to ask about a rough shipping estimate... kinda need the thing to get here and the site was a bit wishy washy on shipping time. Attempts to contact a person who can give a guy a more concrete idea of what “CHECKING ORDER” entails, is met with a frankly insulting roundabout that gives no needed information. If you’re looking for a suit, I’d avoid this company if you can.

I think I waited about 2-3 weeks for it to be made and then another week for shipping. Not 100% sure. It was several months ago.

Here’s what they said. “We are very sorry to inform you that our tailors are on holidays until the 22nd of February, date when they will restart with the production. It would be a 5 weeks delay to receive your order. Normally, you should have received a notification about this exceptional delay when ordering. Please, confirm. Many thanks for your cooperation. For further questions, do not hesitate to contact us again.” Fantastic.

Well, damn. That’s a long holiday. That’s probably something that should go on the website to let customers know before they order.

You’re absolutely right. I’m working on suit reviews right now that wide isn’t an option. But my nest made to measure is planned out and with wide lapels. Might be July though before I can get it.

Ideally, get a tailor to do the measurements for you.

Went to 4 different ones. None would. They all said they don’t want to be responsible if the garment doesn’t fit properly due to errors by the manufacturer.

@@TheDadBod My experience has been that the fit is much better when a tailor takes care of the measurements.
