I got a shirt from them... added an inch or two to some of the measurements and it worked perfectly with my belly. Always find extra long shirts a good idea when you have a dad-bod.

With all of these companies, you have to get your measurements absolutely right, don't make allowances, and preferably get someone else to take, and then double-check, your measurements. I use I-Tailor, with whom I've had, so far at least, no problems at all. I've had two suits, and one pair of trousers, made by them. I'm flabby around the middle, and wider than I ought to be: finding high-rise trousers is difficult, but the I-Tailor trousers fit me perfectly.

I tried iTailor a month ago. Unfortunately I didn’t have your experience. The video is called my worst made to measure suit so far. It felt like a burlap sack.

Good review, I especially appreciate voices from fellow gentlemen that don't fit the standard mold, so to say, as we seem to be the prime target group for m2m clothing. Glad you are happy with your orders. Personally, I found Hockerty to be pretty hit and miss. My best fitting blazer (which I cherish and wear often) is from them as well as a very nice pair of flannel pants, but they also messed up several others of my orders and it's been a hassle to sort it out afterwards. The most infuriating thing being that they were just not able to ever even remotely recapture the fit of the blazer mentioned above on subsequent orders. I guess this has to do with the fact that they most likely outsource ther tailoring to different factories at a time and so you need to be lucky to have your order sent to one of the better ones.

Excellent info, but I have to point out that elsewhere on KZfaq there is pretty accessible info about how you can narrow your waist and get a V-shaped torso with relatively easy diet/exercise changes. It would only take 90 days. While desirable (especially since you are tall), you would then have to redo a lot of our suits, vests, and shirts. :).

I’ve done that. I had several Beachbody programs. Lost a ton of weight with them. 100lbs But I also lost enjoyment. I enjoy food. I enjoy relaxing and spending time with my family. I instead of spending an hour a day working out plus a half hour of prep and cleanup and stressing over all of my macros, I just focus on moderation. It was nice having abs. But I’ve had so many issues in my life that I was in pain every day. Wrists and lower back from a car accident in Boston where a cab hit my cab. (I was being responsible). Another car accident in Maine where a guy hit me while I was stopped at a red light. (Shoulder issue), navy misdiagnosed me with shin splints. It was not shin splints and now I can’t run a 10th of a mile without severe pain. Skiing as a kid, right knee. Football incident in high school gym class, right hand. And currently, heart issues (unrelated to my weight or diet).

I was very unimpressed with how the velvet suit I ordered was shipped, they fold their suits and put them in a soft fabric bag. The whole thing to me screamed “low cost production” because if I had entire team of people spend 50+ hours to hand sew a suit, I’m not gonna put my faith in A.I. to get the measurements exact and I’m definitely not gonna EVER EVER FOLD THE JACKET EVER!! It would be shipped like fine china damn near. Ready to put on as soon as you get it.

Enjoyed the video and nice selection on both the vest and the sport jacket one such as myself I have a certain affinity for wearing vest and one other thing you talked about the jacket has no canvas has fused lining correct me if I'm wrong but I think that will reference the jacket to be considered unconstructed which I believe is exactly what you would want for a summer weight sport jacket overall a very good video thanks

I got my Hockerty Vest. Merino Wool, 'OSAIN' fabric. $129 with free shipping and a free Merona tie. i) I didn't want the jingle bell buckle in the back. ii) I wanted the same fabric front and back, not just lining for the back. iii) I wanted the lapel to go all the way around the neck. Hockerty did not have any of those three choices while ordering, plus you had no way to see that this is what you are getting, as there was no rotation function. Overall, I wanted a vest that I would wear without a jacket (hence full 360 lapel and same fabric front and back). Instead, I got a vest I would only wear with a suit. It is ok, but I don't think I will get another one. iTailor has lower prices, as well as full 360 lapel and uniform front/back fabric options. That said, the poor reviews of iTailor make me hesitant to order from them. I might experiment with a vest there.

They shouldn’t need to. They should use your measurements and make it to that. (Check your buttons, they may be loose when you get the suit)

Nice video. Im glad you have a good experience with Hockerty. Sadly i can't say that i had that. I have tried 3 times with them to get the right fit on a blazer. But they couldn't get it right, and i have a 'normal' slim body. So sadly they cost me alot of money and no product to wear :/ so because of that i can't get myself to try them out again. I can get better fits with off-the-rack blazers. Kinda sad because i liked all the options they had.

That sucks. We’re you not able to get it tailored and update your measurement profile? I had to do that with both Indochino and Oliver wicks. I did a hockerty dress shirt a while back. Was great. Till I washed it. Then it shrunk like crazy. Can’t wear it. Was passed the 7 days for returns. Ended up donating it.

I was also looking at Hockerty for a long time for an upcoming family event. After reading some online reviews, I stayed clear. I found a Turkish guy on Etsy with very nice fabric and suits. I gave him a try and honestly, I was so amazed that I ordered a second suit from him the day after receiving my first suit. Note: He ships from Istanbul and it only takes 4 days (rush shipping thru DHL) to get to the US. AMAZING!

Never use suggestions. They are always off. With every company. Always have someone measure you. I will have a BD Tailor Made MtM suit review in a few weeks.

I am surprised that vests are so much cheaper than suit jackets, and cost barely more than Hockerty shirts. Vests are a low-hanging fruit in terms of making a good impression for a low cost. If someone is really tight on a budget, I would get a custom-tailored vest ahead of shirts or a suit. Remember, off-the-rack shirts underneath the vest don't matter much fit-wise (other than sleeves) if the vest above it is custom fitted. You can also get away with a lot less shirt ironing.

Hey don't buy Hockerty. I bought one of their most expensive velvet Blazers and it ripped the first time I wore it. Customer service team ignored me and wouldn't refund or remake. Extremely disappointing. They said because it was more than 30 days they can't help though I was saving the blazer for a special occasion. Video coming soon. It amazes me that they are willing to lose a lifelong customer because they don't want to fix an issue.

I had repeated issues with the buttons. Super loose stitching. Had to get them all fixed.

Not to be a downer, but the vest and jacket both look crumpled and cheap. Either that or the bad lighting makes them look worse than they are. I just ordered a merino wool dark navy vest from Hockerty (Black Friday promo), and it will arrive in a week. I sure hope it is a lot better than this.

Dont trust hockerty. I have a very athletic shape and after putting all my measurements in, they changed them massively without consulting me because my measurements didnt match my height an weight. The suit arrived 5 days before my wedding, 2 weeks late and they refused a refund.

Kidding, right? Perfect length I thought. The right amount means you get to see just the right amount of shirt cuff… roughly half a double cuff.
