The reason why people resent Roy is because he did a half-arsed lazy job. For example, when he signed Raul Meireles, when asked where he was going to play, he said he didn't know his position what his best position was, and they would find out over the next few games. Surely he would have bothered to research the player he was signing, and not just experiment blindly on the pitch? It's no surpise Meireles's form improved dramatically when Dalglish took over. There were so many times he just clearly hadn't done his research, that was just one. Now he's doing the same thing with England, a half arsed job for the big pay-check whilst the obvious example is being set by Brendan Rodgers.

Also Colloccini has only stood out because all the other defenders around him are crap. He wouldn't last 5 minutes in Champions League football against some of the best players in the world. And Vermaelen has not been good this season he's been bollocks. Arsenal have conceded some of the worst goals I've ever seen due to defending errors, which Vermaelen should have and probably could have dealt with.

Oh of course he did, haha LFC is not the centre of everyone's thoughts. Roy wanted to do a good job. He came in at a rocky time. Hicks/Gillette appointed him as he would not rock the boat and would work with what he had (his whole career is like that). Then when your new owners came in they opted for their own man. It was hardly a huge success, yes the Carling Cup - but league performance has hardly been a huge improvement when investment is considered.
