Just by tucking my trail arm in and committing to the sling made my shots so much straighter and longer - it just reduces so many variables associated with my futile efforts to shallow the club. Played today in windy UK and even in the wind my shots kept line due to reduced spin. THANKS!

Was reading a book called “One move to better golf.” He talked about Hogans swing and basically said the “one move” is to start the back swing with your left shoulder turning into or toward the left shoulder. It starts the coiling of the upper body correctly. I tried it yesterday and I’ll be damned if my ball striking didn’t improve significantly!! I’m a 51 year old newbie by the way and using Hogans 5 lessons. Your videos have helped tremendously also!! Thanks man!!

Welcome to this greatest of games, Jeremy!! There's a lot of great information in that "Five Lessons" book, but there have also been many misinterpretations that have led numerous golfers - and their ball flight - astray. I do my best to take what Mr. Hogan conveyed in the book as his "feels", apply it to the reality of what he actually did in his swing, and translate it into something we all can learn well from. Because if we can get Hogan right there are tremendously effective swing keys to be garnered. By the way, due to their popularity I've combined my Hogan lesson videos into a playlist series on this channel. Here's the link if you are interested: kzfaq.info/sun/PLV62KxT7Mp7IyNDRp0hZK1F1OScdXx-u1 Thanks for your message, keep up the great work, and - most importantly - have fun out there!! Excellent description and demonstration Tom of Hogan's Sling Drill! About a year or so ago, I started paying more attention to the key role that the folded right arm has in the golf swing. The folding and unfolding of a tucked in right arm "not down, but toward the target" was a key disclosure for me. It definitely helps to eliminate chunk-e-cheeses!" Well Done As Always Tom! Yes!! No need for - or benefit to - micromanaging the swing with the hands and wrists, Mike. In fact, with regard to this erroneous notion that we need to affect some type of active hand-rolling “release", given the inability of most folks to spend sufficient time at the range to lock in the required exactness of such an action this misguided thought has led countless golfers astray. It's not something that even the vast majority of pros are trying to consciously manufacture during the split second that the clubhead is traveling a distance of approximately 6' from parallel to parallel at speeds in excess of 100 mph. The forearms will naturally "trade places" from pre- to post-impact, but this should not be construed as a contrived move (although many a casual observer has gone down that rabbit hole). There really ought not be any active manipulation of the hands/wrists through the zone and attempts to precisely time any such rolling or flipping - which does nothing for swing speed - have relegated many an amateur to the vast abyss of inconsistency and frustration. While there are certainly other videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Thanks for your validating remarks and keep it crispy out there!! This is another awesome lesson. I've did this drill after reading Ben Hogan's Five lessons. It's an amazing drill that does wonders in your swing. I did this drill just taking the club back to my hips with my trail arm staying attached. Every ball was dead straight and the distance was so very surprising. I played 18 holes only taking the club to my hips and slinging and I actually did about like I usually do, except always dead straight. Doing this with the full swing, I used a lot less energy. I have learned so much from Tom Saguto in his online course and videos that golf is so much fun now!! This is a game that without studying the proper techniques that Tom shows in his course, I don't think I could have ever put it all together. His online course gives you more ammo than you can use, you just have to apply those principles as you go in his course and it all comes together.

Hey Tom, Great video! I am a 16 year old golfer and you are one of the best golf instructors I have seen! I've been using this tip on the course with my Irons I recently got new R flex top flight irons I have to practice with because before I was using Stiff shafts with ruined my iron game a lot, but I've been getting solid contact just bad miss hits but the new iron change will help me a lot! Thanks so much for the tip Tom! Also Can this tip also work for longer Irons (Like a 3,4 or 5.) and Woods and Drivers?
@pointzerotwo

Tom is very busy, so just trying to help. The swing is the same for every club, so basically nothing changes from club to club other than the length of the shaft, which then changes the angle of the swing plane. If you take your favorite pro golfer, and watch them swing in slow motion from the back, you will see this difference wedge to wood.

@Jtw18_ - I sincerely appreciate your kind words, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating with you!! Congratulations on your new irons! And yes - as @pointzerotwo accurately conveyed in reply to you, it is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pZaopsZ-3rSXpmw.html Here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” where you can learn some aspects of the system I teach in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/ This will provide a nice foundational understanding of the swing keys that will ultimately get you mashing the ball through your entire bag. Tom, another Great video, especially the difference between sling versus twisting the wrists. I have the Precision Impact Trainer, which seems to make sense to impact. However, it doesn't seem to make sense with releasing the wrist as in the skipping stone analogy, which I think produces quite a bit of speed. I'd love you hear your thoughts. Thanks very much, Ron

I learned from your videos to simplfy the swing. Weight more forward was a big change. After that i was able to figure out why i was pulling and/or snap hooking. It was what you called screwdriving. And i was able to focus on not turning my forearms and wrists over. Results: straighter shots and center of clubface contact. This video, perfectly, demonstrates what i was able to figure out after taking to task two concepts. I'm glad your presentation was not typical, (which was probably why i kept watching). Over-produced presentations with many of short clips pasted together or super high tech swing labs are not my level. I'm more of a command-line first operator. A stick, a ball and the green & blue expanse. Some easy-going comraderie would be the sauce on the smoked ribs. Not necessary but if its good -tee it up.

Tom. Only recently found your videos. I’ve seen a coach many times and spent untold amounts and it did help BUT I was stuck in the mid to upper 80’s. Irons were inconsistent and I had no confidence I’d even hit the green from 150-190. Your teaching methods and simple ball striking drills are second to none. I’ve only practiced swing and one range day. I’m hitting it straighter and farther! Now I have to readjust my club selection, ha! My 9 iron is carrying 150 yds! You have a new monthly subscriber! Thanks so much. Oh yeah. That crispy sound off my irons, never heard that before until now. Love it!!!!

I appreciate that, Connor, and I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you! This lesson also applies to the driver. In fact, it is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. What I do on a daily basis is swing an old 6 iron with just my trail arm to whack weeds in my back yard. What that teaches better than the ball toss drill is how to time and control the release of the trail foot and side bending of the spine to shallow the path of the club and hit a precise spot on the ground with it. If the back foot doesn’t lift the hips don’t release and the club gets stuck elbow over trail hip and the club head flips and hits behind the target. If the back foot comes up too soon or too rapidly the hips and hands get too far ahead and the target is missed or miss hit. Unlike the ball drill the weight and leverage of he club when swung with just the trail hand with progressively increasing side bend automatically forces the trail elbow down and externally rotates the arm. It teaches one how to use the kinetic energy of the club to steer the hands instead of trying (in vain) to steer the club with the hands, the mistake most beginners make.

Thanks so much for sharing your excellent round and keep up the great work!! 💪💪 Tom PS: That sore back ought not to have come from this swing as it is a proven body--friendly method. I can vouch for that through my own personal experience as a golfer who previously experienced back pain, and It is further validated by the fact that a significant percentage of my students and online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. If you've not already joined, have you considered enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level? That's where - in addition to detailed lessons and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish - you'll find diagnostic tools for identifying/resolving swing and ball flight issues when they arise, plus advanced level instruction, and much more. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. At just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet. Been learning this related baseball sidearm move (second base throw), or opposite hand frisbee (for those who used to throw a lot of different ways with frisbee) move, or slap shot move for the golf club lately. Or as you mention here the rock skipping throw and it works to get to the correct impact position for golf. Still need to keep the tilt though through impact, which I'm still slightly standing up with my torso and not getting to full extension position past the ball. Baby steps. I have one of the precisian wrist impact trainers. When I 1st used it and filmed myself I noticed I could still flip my wrist badly. I recently found that if I concentrate on my front wrist bending into position on the back and also keeping it bent during impact I won't flip as often after impact. Still needs some work to keep extension full with a natural follow through. I should say that I'm a member of Saguto golf school. I just wish you would have an membership fee to analyze our swings individually like some others do. That would really help out a lot more to make the right corrections. Your instructional videos are great, but it takes the right knowledge to view your own swing and see the needed improvements to make.

Thanks for another great video. Regarding the right upper arm. You demonstrate how you glue it to your right side. However in your full swing it appears that it's not quite as tight to the body. I find that when I keep it really tight (in order to create a consistent swing) it creates other problems. Would you say that it's possible to have it too glued to the side of the body?
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf Ай бұрын
I'm glad you enjoyed it! It is certainly acceptable to have a few inches of space between the trail elbow and the torso at the top, just like I have in my swing. The key is that the arm has not lost its "tucked" orientation and the elbow is definitely not flying away, meaning that it is in perfect position to reconnect in the downswing. "Gluing" it in there is a "feel" that is necessary for most amateurs to achieve this desired action - at least until they have properly ingrained it. This might be a better explanation of what Peter Cowen talks about in his "spin the forearm" move. I appreciate that, and I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated and connected those dots for you! You're absolutely correct. If we pre-establish the connections properly in the setup and have a foundational base that facilitates a full centered turn without restriction, then once we've ingrained the correct actions through sequential drilling and repetition we can entrust the motion to the big muscles and allow the arms, wrists, hands, and club to simply go along for the ride and respond accordingly as if on autopilot. The power accumulators - including the proper arm, wrist, and hand action - will then naturally load and fire with no contrived manipulations or precise timing necessary, thereby returning the face to the position pre-established at address. It's called "giving up control to gain control", and it's the formula for consistently blissful ball striking and seemingly effortless power. Thanks again for your message and support. I hope this lesson performs well when you put it into practice!! Tom

@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf Ай бұрын
Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed it! I choose to "stay in my lane" when it comes to other lesson content out there. That's certainly not a slap against any other methodologies; it's simply that the system I teach is rooted in physics and geometry, and it is modeled on empirical observations of the game's greatest ball strikers. Having said that, with regard to this notion that we need to affect some type of active hand-rolling “release", given the inability of most folks to spend sufficient time at the range to lock in the required exactness of such an action this misguided thought has led countless golfers astray. It's not something that even the vast majority of pros are trying to consciously manufacture during the split second that the clubhead is traveling a distance of approximately 6' from parallel to parallel at speeds in excess of 100 mph. The forearms will naturally "trade places" from pre- to post-impact as demonstrated in this video, but this should not be construed as a contrived move (although many a casual observer has gone down that rabbit hole). There really ought not be any active manipulation of the hands through the zone and attempts to precisely time any such rolling or flipping - which does nothing for swing speed - have relegated many an amateur to the vast abyss of inconsistency and frustration. While there are certainly other videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom

If you are swinging and slinging the same way with every club, Donald, then I would check your setup first: ball position, hand position, and face angle. It is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. Hey Tom, love your videos, and big fan of yours for a long time. My question is, I went to the range today and practiced your technique of short shots pushing club and holding it straight out in front of me. Hit it super crispy doing this, so i love it. Here's my problem, though, and I dont know how to fix it. Your swing is 3/4 back, and follow through is, let's say half to 3/4 through, so this promotes a lower trajectory for me on all my clubs. Am i doing something wrong? It's very difficult hitting driver this way and keeping my weight forward. I've always hit solid drives and was taught to sit on my right side and come forward with the driver. Basically to stand up and clear the hips out of the way

I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating with you! It is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pZaopsZ-3rSXpmw.html Mine is not a 3/4 backswing! We don't need to force ourselves to get to "parallel" with this swing, and fighting our body in an attempt to do so can result in a variety of issues. If we execute this swing properly we will have created width and plenty of distance for that club to travel by taking it in deep, and that enables us to then harness the tremendous power source known as "angular momentum". Additionally, because the ideal downswing path is the ideal downswing path regardless of how we take the club back, there should not be any issue with trajectory if the swing is correctly executed and your equipment is well-matched to you. In fact, we can flight the ball as high as we wish in this system. Should you _really_ like to get on the fast track towards properly learning this swing system in a comprehensive, sequential platform, please consider my online school. Tom, yet another simple, logically explained drill from your brilliant repertoire. You were born for this. Just got back from the range with ONE swing thought (after setting up Saguto-like; weight forward, right hand covering left on grip (which was huge, btw)): GORILLA GLUED lead upper arm to upper chest. The FEEL is a dramatically shortened backswing. The TRUTH is it is not. Oh, the evil lies our brains tell us. The lead shoulder has nowhere else to go but down and towards the ball. Just need to figure out the new ball flight that kinda starts left and draws, but that's the least of my worries. This is a repeatable swing (did I just say that? Don't jinx me Golf Gods). Thank you sir.

That is awesome!! I appreciate your kind words regarding my instruction in general and this video in particular, and I am thrilled for your ongoing progress!! As for your shot shape, it's important to know why the ball is behaving a particular way in order to reverse engineer the cause. The ball is simply responding to the flight plan assigned to it by the clubface at impact. Clubface relative to target line is the primary influencer of the ball's starting line and face relative to path determines direction and degree of curvature. Thanks for the update and keep up the fabulous work!! Tom

I'm very glad to know that you are enjoying my instruction content, Mark! It's an interesting scenario, but you're definitely not alone! Just ask Phil (from the opposite side, of course)... 😎 Short of saying that you need to train your trail hand to hit - which I realize may be difficult - I would recommend you work on maintaining your connections and allowing the big muscles to bring you into impact. In other words, if we pre-establish the connections properly in the setup and have a foundational base that facilitates a full centered turn without restriction, then once we've ingrained the correct actions through sequential drilling and repetition we can entrust the motion to the big muscles and allow the arms, wrists, hands, and club to simply go along for the ride and respond accordingly as if on autopilot. Here are a few lessons on this topic: One of the keys in your situation is to not allow that strong arm - which probably seems to have a mind of its own in anxiously wanting to take over when you're trying to bust one - to jump ahead of the lower body and throw the entire downswing out of sequence, because if it does you're likely taking regular trips to Pull-Slice City. If you can train it instead to be a "slave" to the big muscles to the point where the shaft is parallel to the ground on the way down, then you should be in position to hit hard with the dominant hand as if it were a tennis backhand shot or throwing a frisbee. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address these various "feels", a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews I hope that helps! @johnyi1636 - I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you! With regard to those chunks, consider the following possibilities: 1) Ball position is too far forward, 2) Hands are too far back at address (they should be in line with the inside of your lead thigh), 3) The swing center and low point are drifting backwards at some point during the motion (face-on video will help you determine this), 4) The downswing is steep and/or the path is out-to-in, 5) Early extension of the trail arm during the downswing (also known as "casting"), 6) Flipping/scooping through the zone, 7) Loss of relationship with the ball (shoulder angle flattening, loss of tilt). Though not an exhaustive list, those are the primary causes of fats, thins, and tops. By the way, always begin with the setup - in this case the first two possibilities - prior to diving into a swing intervention. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address the various causes, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Beyond that, the Precision Impact that I demonstrated in this video is an excellent training aid that will help you to neutralize the cause and overcome your issue and crisp up your ball striking. I teach that as well, Craig. For example, this episode from my channel's archives featuring the "Watermelon Drill". I do my best to convey multiple “feels” or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible. We're all different physiologically and psychologically, and something that resonates effectively with one golfer may not necessarily work for another. However, no matter the variety of suggested feels/thoughts offered for a particular element of the swing, they are all directed at getting different golfers to achieve the desired positions, motions, and results. This is why I routinely recommend the online school - saguto.golf - to anyone who truly wishes to experience the joys of consistent, powerful, body-friendly ball striking bliss. If properly deployed as demonstrated here, the trail arm can provide a substantial amount of force without adversely affecting shot shape. @SagutoGolf Ай бұрын
Hi Chuck, Your shanks can be the result of a variety of actions: 1) You may be too steep on the downswing and thereby exposing the hosel to the ball; 2) Conversely, your downswing path may be too in to out; 3) You may be rolling the face open during the backswing; 4) Your wrists may not be hinging properly (which is often the case when a golfer tries to manufacture or force the hinge rather than just allowing it to happen); 5) You are setting up with the ball positioned at the heel of the club; 6) You are losing your pre-established relationship with the ball (i.e.: a deficiency in the Tilt component); 7) More... What I'm getting at is that there are a number of potential causes, and without actually seeing your swing it's impossible for me to identify the culprit behind those hosel rockets. Beyond that, know that I do my best to convey multiple “feels” or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible. We're all different physiologically and psychologically, and something that resonates effectively with one golfer may not necessarily work for another. As such, it is important to understand that the lessons on this channel - while fully aligned with the swing method I teach - address a variety of topics, issues, feels, and/or common flaws/fixes from one episode to the next. Actually Tom I like to sling my club around my body over my lead shoulder around my rotating body. To do this at the very top of my backswing I do a subtle quick clockwise baton twirling of my club’s handle using both hands and wrist. This one swing thought catapult my club head directly through my ball and the centrifugal force behind my club head also turns my body around to a classic finish. Although I understand and agree with everything you just said; with the club head centered around my turning body the centrifugal force makes it impossible for me to hold my finish in the manner you’ve shown. I suppose you prefer crispy and I like the original KFC swing known as Keep Forces Center of the swing. This is awesome and works, but you may want to explain your clubface is never flashing open as you’re externally rotating your right arm
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 21 күн бұрын
I appreciate that, Andy! To be clear, we are not rolling the face open, and as such it remains square throughout the motion. The "external rotation" of the trail arm is what keeps the swing on plane and puts us in great position for a properly shallowed and powerful downswing. The hands and wrists simply react without forcing anything. And i just love the effortless look and feel to it. And it reminds me of all the cool laid back golfers of the 80s....But the friggin release is of course more wristy....ayeyaiyai 🙃

So no more pointing the face down during your take away? The angle matching your spine angle?

I don't believe I said anything about manipulating the face during the takeaway. We are tucking the trail arm as I routinely teach and allowing it to externally rotate in response to that connection point and the correct shoulder action. The hands/clubface remain quiet and simply react to the motion. In more general terms, I do my best to convey multiple “feels” or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible. They are certainly not intended to be taken as a comprehensive, step-by-step, position-by-position learning platform like the structured curriculum of my online school, which I strongly recommend to anyone who truly wishes to get on the proper path towards owning this swing as it will make for a far more efficient and enjoyable learning process rather than haphazardly trying to piece things together through my KZfaq content. The lessons and drills provide the guidelines and set the boundaries, while allowing ample leeway for each individual golfer to infuse and exercise their own uniqueness. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result of the school, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. Would you like to learn some key aspects of the swing I teach in a more structured manner? If so, then here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to my formal instruction style. So I can do this with my right hand but I have an inability to combine my hands on the golf club and recreate this. Any tips?
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf Ай бұрын
Ahh.... the old hand-to-hand combat.....😎 If you can do this properly with the trail hand, then I would keep drilling the trail hand only until it becomes second nature. Then alternate hitting shots between trail hand only and both hands, continuing to emphasize the trail hand only "feel" when both hands are on the club. Lather, rinse, repeat until such time that you have "broken the spirit" of that "corruptive" lead hand. If that doesn't work for you, then I would refocus on tucking that trail arm. For example, here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jJqGgsWX0t-XaZs.html Finally, the Precision Impact that I demonstrated in this video is an excellent training aid that will help you to neutralize this issue and crisp up your contact. I highly recommend it. If interested you can get your Precision Impact Trainer here - pureswingproducts.com/SagutoGolf (use code CRISPYKFC for $20 Off and Free Shipping) I hope that helps! Tom

Is it the same swing for the driver… arm tucked in & then extended?
@SagutoGolf

Yes - absolutely this swing key also applies to the driver. In fact, it is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. LOL! I'm glad to learn that you are enjoying my "lesson and a show" instruction style, Carlos. Just know that despite the entertainment aspect, everything taught here from a golf swing perspective is consistent with a system rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology, and modeled on empirical observations of the game's greatest ball strikers. Hi Matthew, The action described and demonstrated in this video powerfully returns the face to its preestablished position at setup. The only reason the face would be open at impact is if we did something upstream in the swing motion to open it!

Serious question…how do I hit it straight? I’m hitting big old crispy draws and it’s all I can do now.
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 28 күн бұрын
I'm very glad to learn of your crispiness, Lewis - nice job!! Regarding those "pesky" draws - which most amateur golfers would kill for 😎 - the ball is simply responding to the flight plan assigned to it by the clubface at impact, aka "ball flight laws". Clubface angle relative to target line is the primary influencer of the ball's starting line and face relative to path determines direction and degree of curvature. From there we can then do some reverse engineering to tweak our shot shape. Typically, when this swing is working properly it only requires some minor setup adjustments to move the ball one way or the other on-demand. For example, here is a shot shaping demonstration featuring a fellow teaching pro when we were attending Instructor Camp together in Miami: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f8mdftuXseCddYE.html By the way, there are entire sections of my online school dedicated to diagnosing and resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues. Have you looked into it? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. Thousands of folks across the globe are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. At just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet. Keep up the great work!! 💪💪 Tom

I noticed that you had an open stance. Is that just a feel thing or possibly club heads speed?
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf Ай бұрын
Hi John, If by "open" you mean that my stance line is not parallel to the target line, then the camera angle is deceiving you. If, on the other hand, you are referring to my outwardly flared feet, this is done purposefully as it facilitates the proper amount of body-friendly, free-flowing hip turn back and through. This is a major power move that also keeps the club traveling on the correct path. If you were to square your feet so that they were perpendicular to the target line, then your hips would be impeded from turning sufficiently in the backswing (which would then inhibit the shoulders from executing a full and effortless turn), and from releasing properly in the downswing to propel the club through the zone. Restricting this action can cause a variety of path issues and/or also place strain on the lead knee and the hip joints as the hips will "want" to move laterally and turn through into the finish but will be fighting the body in the process. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom

I got the toe hooks right now!! I can get away with wedges but it really kills my approach..
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf Ай бұрын
There are various causes of toe hits, Dylan, with the most common being related to setup (for example, the arms are not hanging down naturally and are in fact slightly reaching away from the body at address) or a downswing path that is coming from the outside and across the ball. The hook component is related to a clubface that is closed to the downswing path at impact and, if the ball's starting direction is to the pull side and hooking further in that direction, then it is also closed to the target line (again, oftentimes related to a steeper path, although a strong grip can bee the culprit as well). FYI, there are entire sections of my online school dedicated to diagnosing and resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues. Have you looked into it?
