Right on Mark! I think you will like the gimbal. The joystick takes a little getting used to but other than that its a great gimbal for the price.

My Buff came in the mail yesterday. I agree that the quality of the unit appears very well made. I have been charging it for 14 hours with an Anker 24V charger and it doesn't appear to be charged yet (light still flashing). 2 questions. How long does it take to complete a full charge? I know that depends on the charger of course but an idea would be helpful. I can't check the units operation. There are other models for sale (T2) that are similarly priced. I couldn't really make a call on which model was the newest or if it had any new features that would be better than the Buff. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mark

I don't remember off hand how long it takes to charge but, 14 hours should be sufficient. Maybe take the battery out and double check that there's no issues with the battery itself and that nothing is in the battery chamber blocking the contact points. They make the isteady T1 which has added stability features, a bluetooth remote, auto face recognition, and some other features. The T2 has all the features of the isteady T1 I'm not sure if it has additional features? I haven't had the opportunity to use the T1 or T2.

Have now received my Hohem buff and am pretty pleased with the results had when using it with phone. I am just starting to test with my GoPro Hero3+ (didn't get the mounting plate with the gimbal, so had to wait for it to be delivered)I am having issues trying to get the GoPro to connect to the Hohem studio software. Did you encounter any problems and if so did you manage to resolve them at all? I am working around this issue at the moment by using the GoPro software, but it would be nice to be able to use the tracking function with the GoPro.

Hello Scott, I have not tried my GoPro with the Hohem gimbal. I have only used my iphone 7 Plus, and haven't had issues connecting? Is your Hohem Studio app updated? It sounds like you're having bluetooth pairing issues? I always tripple check everything maybe even turn everything off (shut down) and reboot everything. I'm sorry I don't have a direct solution for you.

Hi. Thanks for the review. Couple of questions: (1) will this work ok with the iPhone 5s? (2) Did you have stabilisation on whilst filming? It looked a bit jerky in places. Or does a GoPro not have such a feature built into it?

Hi Ian, thank you for watching the video. Yes, this will work with an iPhone 5S. The GoPro I was using does not have image stabilization.

Hello! How do you calibrate this thing? I have one like this and I can’t seem to make it work properly. I was able to use it for good 20 minutes and it started shaking like crazy. I haven’t use this for a while now and I am thinking of selling it since I got a DJI OSMO 2 but it only works with my phone.

Hey IceBox, it takes a little time and patience to calibrate the Neewer stabilizer. There are videos out there that specifically talk about calibrating the Neewer stabilizer. Don’t give up on it yet. I just picked one up and am still getting used to it. Were you able to control the GoPro via the Gimbal? Or did you have to turn on/off the recording manually or via the phone app? I can get the Gimbal to control my phone via the Hohem app, just wasn't sure about the GoPro.

Hey Matt, I have only used my cell phone with the gimbal so far. I usually use the GoPro for direct mount stuff. Depending on what generation GoPro you have, you should be able to connect via Wi-Fi.

Was the battery built-in or did I see you set the battery to the side in the beginning of this video it's really important to me that I don't buy anything with a built-in battery

It comes with a replaceable/ rechargeable battery. You unscrew the bottom and can take out the batteries.

It’s the only I could find under 200€ supporting upto 260g. My Sony Xa2 has 221g so the smooth Q or cosmo Mobile 2 are not combatible for me. Cool video.

Yeah, Max the Hohem gimbal works great with a large smartphone or a GoPro when you use the adaptor. Thanks for checking out the video!

Upside Down Mtn thanks for answering, appreciate it, one last question, what’s the difference between the buff and T2, there is no comparison to be found on the net. The buff is 10€ more on the German amazon where I would buy, other than that I cannot see many differences, well the buff is the only which specifies the weight limit it supports where the T2 doesn’t. I think the T2 also has a Bluetooth remote? The Buff just works with the joystick on the handle. I love Germany! I have been to Munich and Oktoberfest. I live here in California.

Upside Down Mtn I know therefore I asked in case u know something I didn’t hehe. Well since the T2 doesn’t mention the payload limit I would go with the Buff. Funny, Munich is where I was born and lived until I was only 2, then I moved around over my lifetime living in other places and countries in Europe. Thanks anyway and keep up the good videos, 1+sub!

The gimbal does not have a mount for an external mic. Also when you slide the phone into the gimbal the port is blocked to plug a mic in (iPhone).

Did you experience any motor vibrations or motor noise? From your video it doesn't sound like it.

I didn't experience any motor noise or vibrations. The movement was smooth and fluid. I did notice when flipping the gimbal upside down to get low to the ground shots it did start to glitch and the motor became erratic.

Thanks for this vid but what’s the diff between this and the Zhiyun Smooth? Looking for a gimbal that will fit either a GoPro 4 and an iPhone.

I have not used the Zhiyun Smooth gimbal so I can't say what the difference is... The Hohem Buff gimbal works with a smartphone and it has an adapter for a GoPro.

Zoel, you connect your phone to the gimbal via Bluetooth.

I don’t know all of the Zhiyun specs or features. I know that the Zhiyun 4 is a more recent model so, I would imagine more features? I would compare each of the specs and features of the brands you are considering. I hope you find the correct one for your needs.

@@UpsideDownMtn Yes, I did use the selfie camera and face detection on, yesterday. Then after your video, I watch other video also. There is not many video about this gimbal. So this morning, I take a early walk. Refering to your video and videos from Hohem website. This time I use mode 3(press 3 time on the navi button). It work fine with minor adjustment while walking. Thank you.
