In Spanish whenever you see any of the vowels Áá, Éé, Íí, Óó, Úú, it means that pronunciation makes emphasis on that syllable with the accented vowel, in this case “Hipólito” instead of being pronounced “Ee-poh-lee-toh” its pronounced “Ee-POH-lee-toh”.
