In this video I will go through how air superiority in land battles really works. And there a reason I write "really works" is because I thought I knew how the mechanic worked... But when started to ask around everyone said different things, and I realized I didn't really know anything about it after all.
So after a full day of testing I will share my - quite crazy to be honest - findings with you. I really hope you like it :) (it is absurdly powerful)

I have 1000 hours in hoi4 I still don’t understand how the AI has 5000 planes left after shooting down his entire airforce twice and convey raiding him

Yeah, they tend to build quite a few planes :p even in our multiplayer games, it’s not unusual that a player like the UK or Germany has lost 20-30000 fighters in a game.

The 350 Airpower Number seems quite useful to know. Now you know at what point you have enough fighters and how many planes you can assign to other regions.

Exactly! But that is “unchallenged”. So if the enemy puts up just a few fighters, it will modify the result..!

the bottom left side of the superior fierpower doctrine also gives air superiority

Although this game consider less railroad than any other PDX game before that. But the amount of "hidden" tooltips is insane, I never look at those tool tips, thing like enemy max speed reduce due to air

It is insane! But also a charm! It gives nerds like ourselves the opportunity to dig into something ;)
