Ost in Swedish means cheese, thus Ostland becomes "cheese land" in Swedish. There is a cheese called Västerbottenost (Västerbotten cheese) that comes from Västerbotten, which in HOI4 is located in the state of Lappland.

This is not even the most obscure way paradox could have executed this achievement: back when Finland was a part of Sweden, it was often referred to as Ostland.

As a Swede myself i can tell u that cheese in swedish is called ost (ostland haha) and there is a cheese in sweden that is produced in Västerbotten which is very beautifully called: Västerbottens ost (Its kinda disgusting ngl)

I just did the achievement today, it still works, but for whatever reason i didn't have as much manpower mobilized as you did at every point in the video, even though for Conscription laws and focuses i followed to the day when selecting them. Because of that I wasn't able to get out as many troops and had a little tougher time dealing with sweden, but I still made it work in the end.

I like the use of "Cheap as chips" idiom. Much better than "goedkope frietjes" or "frites pas chères", but leave it to a Blegian to use a Fry metaphor.

Nice pun Nice gameplay as usual. Meanwhile in my Siberian Tiger game, i'm going through a slog to conquer Germany in April 1946. Only them and Italy who hasn't capitulated but fortunately i managed to snag all their occupied lands including Allied countries. Hamburg has been taken so Pact of Omsk is essentially controlling the last stage of the war.

Hey, have you ever given the mod, 'Hungarian Flavor' a try before? I think it's one of the best mods in terms of both quality and quantity; it gives Hungary a much better and larger focus tree, historical events and equipment than what Paradox gave in Death or Dishonor. Back when I played that mod a lot, it was only available on ModDB though, I'm not sure if they moved over to Steam yet, or not. Either way, I think it'd be a good idea for you to try it out!

I always thought you were swedish because of your accent lol. Ost means cheese in swedish therefore ostland means "cheese land". we also produce our own cheese called "västerbottenost" (västerbotten cheese) that is made in västerbotten, which is in lappland :)

I got the achievement yesterday following this guide, and Germany rejected me joining the Axis because apparently I created too much world tension invading Sweden. But the Brits guaranteed the Baltic Countries and I went to war with them, dragging the Allies and causing Germany to invite me in. Just a tip for anyone trying this

I know its not an achievement, but how about some formable nation runs? For example al andalus, sultanat of africa, emirate of sicily and unite arabia. Would love to watch those (and any other interesting formable nation ofc)

Idk if I did something wrong but when I justified sweden it was at 5% wt and so i justified the second the civil war went off but when i was justifying when I was doing axis war economics uk guaranteed sweden

Ironman simply means you can't save the game to load it if something goes wrong. It is for achievements. These tactics work on normal, so they should work on easy

Weird I followed the guide (put my game on 1.11 as well) France guaranteed Sweden 5 days before my justification finished. World tension never went above 23% so I have no idea what happened.

Another way is to join the Axis, when Germany has started ww2 declare war on Sweden & let Germany do all the work and then just ask them for control of Lappland.

I had France do it in my play though. I think Paradox increased world tension somewhere and guarrantees start earlier now.

21 width for infantries and 45 width for armors seems pretty popular now.

Bitter...what version of game did you use? I was using v1.2 and did not have the manpower to even make eight divisions for invasion. Thus I got crushed because France guaranteed Sweden and entered the war at the start.

Figured out why Allies kept guaranteeing Sweden. I kept choosing to get war decision on them before my civil war was over which increases war tension by 2 or 3 percent extra instead of only 10 percent. Managed to declare war and invade without any Allies guareentee so on my way to victory.

the cope paradox is spewing is insane with BBA "Balanced Latvia's population by reducing the numbers in the state of Vidzeme from 1.52m to 408k and increased the population in the state of Zemgale from 64k to 215k for a more historically accurate representation as noted in AR-29854" so you get to have a more difficult time cause they didnt plan for historical accuracy, almost tempted to revert to 1.11.12 so this is isnt a slog due to manpower
