He totally declared a war, got overloaded by how much was going on, and just left a month or 2 in. He had a decent industry, even with a lot of his cores gone, A small but well equipped army with stockpiles. You can turn around games that are far more precarious than this if you just breath and set up defensive lines. You probably wont have the best time though.

3 numbers to keep in mind for ground units: org, armor, pen. 30 org is needed for defending, including when you take ground and get pushback. 48 armor beats all ai unit's pen at '40, and 80 armor beats them at '42 and onward. 37 pen beats '40 armored units, and 80 pen does the same in '42. No matter what you're doing, those three numbers will determine your engagements, defensively and offensively.

War Tensions were at 13%, declared on Yugo at March 13th and it rose to 20%. A month later when I declared on Austria, it increased to 27%. How is this possible to circumvent in the later patches?

It really annoys me that pretty much none of these guides work anymore because Paradox keeps patching all the tricks and shortcuts one would NEED to take in order to achieve the ultimate goal of these strategies; big empires. I've tried multiple guides from a year ago by Bitt3rsteel but they're completely broken and don't work anymore. Tried Papal States yesterday, can't even Paradrop into France because they magically summon 250-300 extra fighter planes as soon as you go to war with them. That was a whole afternoon wasted to figure out that this game can't ever be truly FUN, because as soon as Paradox finds out they simply destroy it with a DLC they ask us to pay for. Sweden is useless these days, can't rebuild the Karolinian Empire from our 'Stormakts Tid' so why even bother when you can't become a powerhouse anymore? I want to enjoy this game so badly but almost 300 hours in and I find myself only having fun in coop with a friend.

The Republic of German Austria really happened. Aside from today's Austrian territory it also claimed Sudetenland, Czech/Austrian Silesia, upper half of today's South Tyrol and a little bit of Slovenia. The borders were like this for 2 reasons. 1 - it encompassed all German inhabitated areas, 2 - they were hoping to be annexed by Weimar Germany (that's why the name of German Austria, they thought that without the monarchs, there is nothing separating Germans and Austrians)
