How to get the Kingdom of Norway, and get good! After Bitt3rsteels guide on this fun path for Norway PDX made some changes that required a new guide. And here it is! I've listed my PP picks, focuses, research for the first few years below this description.
All DLC's up until Trial of Allegiance were used for this video. Ironman and historical focuses are on.
Music is from Age of Wonders 1 (and a short piece from another classic!)
Focii: Stumbling storting, royal chamberlain, (150pp, decisions all) - send storting home - assure the population, demand king haakon, the crowns executive powers, a warden king
start rearmament, kickstart military industry, the kingdom of norway, appoint to army staff, power to the royal guard, for the king and prince, shield of the north, Claims etcetera
pp: (10x monarchy decisions), compliant politician, promote armed forces (x4) 2x more monarchy decisions, prop up the economy (3x), attaché to China, decisive battle expert, naval theorist, army offense genius, partial mob etc.
t1: electronic, mechanical, MARINES , constr2, fuel2, fuel2,
t2: tools1, dispersed1, interwar arty, tools2, oil1, basic tank, med tank,
t3: TRANSPORTS, constr1, radio, dispersed2, support wp1, supportwp2, engineers 2

So I did my own run and you can get the Kalmar Union and still go for the North Sea Empire. The Kalmar will give you the cores on sweden then you core UK.

Well thanks to Bitt3rSteel mentioning you in his videos, I now waste more time trying to figure out how to play this game than I do playing. LOL. All Kidding aside Thank you for the content, I will need to try this one day.

I have always liked playing as Norway. In many ways they're like Finland with similar manpower and industry but are not bordering the soviets. Even if you fight Germany, it's easier to keep them from landing troops than it is to keep the soviets out of Finland.

Can you do a video playing Manchukuo? Either historical or the independence path. I love the high level of detail and preparation in your videos, thanks for the job.

Just a couple improvements- 1. if you use first 35 army xp on relief of command you can save 100pp on the intelligence advisor and it basically pays itself back if you do it right away. 2. Only takes 3 military decisions to get to 50% war suppprt (before attaché) 3. No reason to do the war support decisions first, do the economy ones so the benefits start immediately. You still need them all before taking that one focus, might as well do them optimally. 4. The stability decision is great too, worker conditions on steroids 5. Wait until right before the focus to send the attaché so you get fewer protests that cost you PP.

@@antasil5768been trying to follow your guide today and can’t help myself lol, I’m a severe min maxer at heart. In my game I went straight for Denmark, they said no and when I capped them I got to skip all those other focuses letting me get a few more eco and army ones done. Unfortunately Sweden said yes, I wanted to conquer them since you can now form Kalmar *and* then North Sea. How tf did you get naval supremacy to invade UK though? I’m having absolutely no luck. Only thing I really did differently was invite Finland into my faction as soon they white peaced the Soviet Union and didn’t join axis… can’t think of why that would do it but maybe Germany has ships that only count if I’m in that faction?

You can also probably only do 6 of the king decisions because you don’t need all 12 for a while and they hurt more than they help, probably best to save them to right before you need them. Edit: should also probably take the PP guy asap as long as it doesn’t delay any focuses

Oh I do play mods, I like the Great War Redux and RT56 most of the regular ones. I'm not sure what to do with a video on that, really.

I just tried and you can still take the focuses to remove hard thirties even after forming kingdom of norway its just the others that you cant take

I know this isn't your thing but how do you rate the Netherlands as a place to live? I've had two sets of interviews for a place in Utrecht so I've been wondering.

I’m still disappointed they made the Nordic formables mutually exclusive. Takes out a lot of the fun for me personally.

yeah and I'm not really sure why they did that. They do offer choices a lot of the times, like in focus trees. And Italy has to choose between Mare Nostrum and Greater Italy, for instance. But formable nations and cores are mostly alt history fun anyway, so it shouldn't be this serious.

Interesting DLC, well made. Better playable than BFTB when it first came out. Countries are a bit overpowered now, but thats to be expected. South America saw the least action in World War 2, so the DLC was destined to be alt-history all over.

Since the fascist paths are usually the strongest, those are the least interesting for me to play. Other than that I'm not sure I understand your question about the free american empire.
