The strategy shown did not work for me yesterday, because I faced two problems: 1)The USA joined the Allies on November 18th 1939, just two month after my war declaration. 2)The 1 cavalry templates I recruited like you did just died during combat, I guess their power was two weak. I think I still just suck at HOI4, especially warfare, but I will try it again soon, since it looks so much fun what you are doing in this video. On the topic of Mexico: Mexico had a string of great presidents from Adolfo de la Huerta to Adolfo Ruíz Cortínez and Adolfo López Mateos, from the 1920s to 1950s. Out of them all the outlier and undoubtedly the best of them was Lázaro Cárdenas, portrayed there in HOI4. Before you say it, yeah, there were suspiciously a lot of Adolfos in office in that time period.

Mexico is my favorite to play too :) pretty much for all the same reasons you've listed. The focus tree is so versatile and bad a lot of replayability.

Damn, Mexico with all it's cores is hella strong. Can you play as the Sultanate of Somalia in Kaiserreich ?

You can avoid the Naval invasion of Panama by allying with colombia. I generally ally with all the SouthAm nations but Brazil (I like to puppet Brazil for colonial units later). You can also get a ton of equipment thru Land Lease from the Bolivarian alliance and about one army group in Expeditionary. That 50% tension limit doesn't have to delay the US war since as long as you don't puppet any part of the US in a peace conference you're still good to go with that Focus.

when i have a war and i take like 20-50 casualties i feel bad for them individual soldiers. like 10 divisions attacked and the 51 unlucky schmucks managed to die in a special military operation to conquer el salvador or whatever. RIP.

Hey Stakuyi, have you considered playing Victoria 2 GFM mod? In it if you play as the US you can annex all of Mexico during the Mexican-American War and it actually has knock on effects for the Civil War where Mexico will rise up along with the CSA (it counts as a separate war). After you defeat Mexico a second time you get cores on all of it.

Glad to see you having fun any chance you can play as Cuba on one of those mods that add a focus tree. I would really like to see Cuba destroying the USSR.

as a Mexican, when i first started playing HOI4 i was greatly surprised to play as Mexico and having lots of fun. My favorite path is Communist Mexico

I feel like these videos are a perfect answer to people who ask, "Why don't you just play the game yourself instead of watching someone else play the game?" I personally have neither the patience nor the relevant type of intelligence required to play this kind of game well.
