Holding your breath longer is a mental game. If you can master what goes on between your ears, you'll do fine. So STOP treating a breathhold like if it's something you have to physically train for. Not at beginners's level! Yes, at an advanced level you'll engage in physical training for longer breathholds, but not for the vast maiority of people who are beginners. That's you!
