Kim and Penn changed the whole vibe of the Amazing Race into a kind, friendly competition and they embodied the perfect race partners. I have followed both the Holdernesses and Amazing Race for years and this, in my opinion, was the ultimate package. I would have been happy to have any of the top three couples win, but this was especially inspiring to this middle aged lady. Congrats Kim and Penn!

it was so nice to see! especially after last season which was so toxic with the formation of that 5 team alliance, which all targeted specific teams and u-turned them, & shared answers to tasks with eachother which severely helped teams progress past other teams who were stronger, etc. It wasnt enjoyable to watch at all. However, This season was a breathe of fresh air however as i loved ALL the teams! It was very enjoyable to watch. Kim and Penn could not be more deserving winners as well, they are so kind, nice, funny, & entertaining. Such class acts, i mean they won the amazing race and than thanked the behind the scenes crew for all their hard work, made me so happy to see. truly class acts and well deserved.

@@B3_6 exactly! That season and those winners were just so toxic and nasty. I almost swore off the race because of that. Annoyingly still, they’re still in a campaign to clean their image - like give it a rest, your 15 minutes are up. I am so glad Kim and Penn showed the world that you don’t have to be gross like that to win.
@baygona

I said the same thing, that I'd be genuinely happy for any team that won, because this was the first time in years there was no petty drama and all the teams just focused on their own race.

It was also so good to see a man treat his wife so well and just be a bright example for all of us. Sometimes the race gives you 2 constantly at each other's throats, but the way Penn is always there for his wife is inspiring.

Remember the couple who when they hit the mat at a pit stop Phil in all seriousness asked her “are you ok?” because her boyfriend treated her so badly on that leg? So nice not to hear that horror coming from a couple. They were how a team under pressure should work together. Even in everyday life. I’ve told my Hubs that my refrain would be “…and don’t call me Babe or Baby”. I’m not a pig and I’m not your baby! (Although when I’m really hungry & there’s good food, the pig thing could be questioned legitimately😆)

Kim and Penn are roll (edit: ROLE) models for a forgotten demographic that is going through the daily struggle of raising a family, maintaining careers, and dealing with the physical changes the body goes through as you exit your years of youth. You might be young and energetic when you first have kids, but 15 years later the pace only increases while the physical body is asking for a timeout to catch their breath. To do that, while just being amazing people and loving and supportive to each other through high stress, and conquering the Amazing Race against some really strong teams - it just gives encouragement for others to face their daily challenges, and know that they will get through them. Huge congrats to Kim and Penn.

This is the first couple I actually was rooting for to win. I always have people I root against or people that I don’t mind winning, but these guys are so great. They don’t disrespect each other. They aren’t bitter toward each other. All those good qualities that make good couples “work” are the things we saw on the show, and they are actually “real” instead of some mask out on to play up to the camera. Total class acts, and I hope this propels them to a new level of success, fame, fortune, and charity.
