The Federer's backhand pass against Nadal to save match point in 2008 Wimbledon final was a few 100 times more impressive. And that was a Slam final. No wonder the generations after Fed, Nadal, Djokivic were so much less. Alcaraz was probably the closest to the Big 3's level.

@@winnercr7092 Nothing amazing. Rublev hit in his strike zone. He didn't even need to hit it on the run. Only reason it's talked about is because it's a put away match point that Rublev was expected to make but instead he was nervous and Rune got another life line. If this is praised as "amazing" for this generation, then Djokovic will be number 1 until he's 50. In this tournament, only Korda looks like he could take on Djokovic, but only if he could keep up the quality he showed against Medvedev, anbd then it will become a mental battle which Djokovic still has the edge. For any of these toung guys to take down Djokovic, they'd better hope his injury is as serious as he made it look in the press.

What a weird match. Both players went from good play to crap and vice versa. Both players let nerves get to them and choked many times. Kudos to Rublev for not giving up, even when the situation seemed near impossible many times in that 5th set. I hope this shuts up all of the people that actually believed this spoiled brat had any chance of beating Djokovic in a best of five just because he did it in a best of three. Rune could not even conquer a subpar Rublev. No way was he beating Novak. The good news is that the kid has plenty of time and will surely be great, but he'll at least need a couple more years to break through the big stages and win a slam.
