Absolutely insane resistance to give up and motivation to reach higher ranks and goals again! Already a tennis legend in Bulgaria. Most players of his generation just fall off completely - think of Nishikori, Raonic.. Who knows, maybe he can finally reach his ultimate goal: Grand Slam Title! There must be a movie about him - if you know where he started you will admire him even more!

@@user-nv1cg9rx9p Yep, he's now using real power and variation on both flanks. He looks solid and confident. Dimitrov must be a good outside bet for the Aussie Open, playing like this. Never have i seen Dimitrov play with this much conviction and confidence in my life, and I've followed him from the start. I think Grigor finally woke up and decided, no longer will i be bullied because of my single-handed backhand, and he basically did a Neo Federer of 2017... just ripping his BH instead of playing a defensive slice. If he maintains this level, he should be one of the contenders for the AO title.

@@loganthewolverine2030 You probably mean 2017 AO and 2013 Madrid. Anyway, Dimitrov's backhand hasn't "become so good over the years", it was just extremely poor after his shoulder problems, in 2018-2023, which is, sadly, the only period people here remember. It only became better again at the end of 2023. But it was already strong at his peak, in 2013-2017, he was a totally different player compared to his last 5 years.

Agree, can't add more❤❤🥹🥹 Well now I wanna add something. For how much I loved Federer's game, which was even cleaner in the way he flew around the court and unleashed God Mode shots, I like Dimitrov style even more. He has less variety than Rog (but a lot more than many others), but It's absolutely ridiculous how many times in a match can hit high risk shots as it was normal. He can hit for example 20 backhand flicks or passing shots, between winners, miraculous defences, net approaches, half volleys, with just 2-3 errors. That's insane. Really a player from a different galaxy. Plus playing with one handed backhand in today's tennis is so tough for anyone on the planet. Okay the ranking says Tsitsipas is still there, but he never reached such a high level... Winning in the way Grigor does isn't normal, every title has triple value 🎉🎉🎉

As much i would love to see dimi go deep, one handed back handers really don’t stand a chance in this era of basline tennis . Ultimately errors catch up and they end up on the losing side. I doubt any young player today will take up the one hander , guessing coaches will also move completely away from it . Sorry i derailed from the main topic but seeing dimi , i feel like we are seeing the last of the one handers (him / wavrinka / and the now retired gasquet)

Waiting throughout 6.5 years in order to attain a ATP title. Even though Bulgarian tennis player confronted with the downturns and downswings during the particular periods, he has elevated his mobility and adaptability within this process in order to compete more perseverant and resolute than the previous seasons. I am really blissful for Dimitrov. He should have literally captured more ATP titles with his impression. He has multiple potentials to clinch the successes and achievements. It is absolutely an extraordinary championship on the behalf of Grigor Dimitrov.

Dimitrov is finally fulfilling his immense potential. He always had the game, just not the fitness or mental strength. He'd always give away the second set after winning the first and then wasn't confident about the third because of the lack of fitness. You don't win titles like that. He has clearly taken a good long and hard look at himself and knuckled down and is staying impressively laser focused throughout matches. Quite a turnaround.

I don't think this version of Dimitrov is "mini" anything. The BH has more power than Federer's. It's more similar in style to Federer's but with the power of Wawrinka's. Only things Dimitrov is not as good as Fed is touch and volley, but in today's baseline ball bashing game, you can win without being great at net or great touch.
