Pittsburgh groups and soloists have never gotten the credit they deserve.

The Holidays also recorded another record-One little kiss(the Nix label I believe). Also a CD of also their records plus some unreleased cuts was issued. Some members of the original group tried to re-organize some time back to perform in some of the local clubs. However this group had a different lead singer. I don't believe the current Holidays if they are still performing have any original members.This is a beautiful record which for some reason never received much airplay even in Pgh.
@virginiaritter79922 жыл бұрын
Charlie Hatfield, one of the original Holidays, was in the reformed group , It was his hobby as he was an oral surgeon by day. Charlie died a few years ago...2019. He was the last living member of the original group.

Yup, one of my favorite Pittsburgh sounds. IIRC they only had two releases on Robbee, the 2nd being "Lonely Summer/Then I'll Be Tired Of You" Both pretty good tunes in a similar vein. I don't think "Tired" has been posted on KZfaq yet (wink wink nudge nudge).
@zero4conduct12 жыл бұрын
ps-The Holidays were from Clairton Pa. about 20 miles south of Pittsburgh. I ran into the original lead singer whose name escapes me at this time. He was working in Deep Creek Maryland as a golf pro but that was a very long time ago. There is a nice story about them on their CD if you can find a copy.
