The Woods
This song is about escaping the mundane and going out into nature to find peace. It was one of the first songs we ever wrote together and it was actually the song that really started everything for us. We recorded it in a friends garage. At first we only put it on Soundcloud because we thought it wasn’t good enough for iTunes or Spotify. We both had normal jobs and always thought music would just be a hobby. Then this song started going viral on Soundcloud and we have been doing music ever since.
Coastline
We both grew up on the east coast of Australia. However, we actually wrote this song while we were living in Canada. We spent some time living in Toronto, very far from any coastline, and while we were there we were reminiscing on road trips up and down the east coast of Australia and this song was born. We recorded it in a little studio in Montreal, and the recording engineer must have misheard us when we told him the song name because when we looked at the computer he had titled the song ‘Toastland’.
These Memories
This song is basically just reminiscing on specific memories of times spent with someone who was special to you but is now far away. You may not see each other anymore but the memories will stay with you forever. The harmonising slide guitars at the end was an idea that I got from a Bon Iver song that I love called Beach Baby.
Evermore
About 4 years ago, Matt’s sister approached him and told him that she was struggling to find a song to walk down the aisle to on her wedding day. She asked if he could write a song for her. Of course he said yes! So he wrote this song and performed it with his brother as she walked down the aisle. After the wedding we both listened to the song and thought it was special. We worked on it together to try and shape it into something for Hollow Coves. The song sat with us for the next few years.
Home
This was also one of the first songs we wrote together. You know what they say; theres no place like home. Well it’s true. While we both love travelling and exploring new places; we also love where we live; our friends, our families. This song is quite simply about missing our home here in Australia.
Blessings
Blessings is a song of gratitude. It’s about recognising the little blessings that life has to offer. If we don’t take a moment to acknowledge them; we can often miss them. Practicing gratitude is known to be good for mental health; yet anxiety and depression seem to be more and more prevalent in our generation. I think this generation is just too distracted to stop and take time to be practice gratitude. We wanted to write this song to help people to realise that there are blessings all around if you just look up and take the time to think about how much we have to be grateful for.
Hello
This song was actually based off one of the first songs Matt ever wrote back in school. He stumbled across the song again during COVID lockdowns and some new verses came to mind. After he finished writing it he uploaded an iPhone recording to Dropbox where we both share new ideas. It was only up on Dropbox for about 5 minutes and then he decided to delete it. Luckily I had received a notification that it had been uploaded and listened it in those few minutes and I messaged him straight away to tell him that I loved it.
Lonely Nights
When we first wrote ‘Lonely Nights,’ we were on tour in Europe and missing home. We were reminiscing on times spent with friends and lamenting missing events. Now, given the events of the last year and a half, we can’t help but think that this is a feeling that so many people would have experienced, and may still be experiencing, through the COVID lockdowns and times of isolation. We hope this song is somehow able to give people a sense of peace and hope for the future.

Aperion is so wonderful. When I hear these songs, I can't think of anything but beauty. So many listeners are suffering. I too have suffered, but my life gets better day by day. I've given drugs and alchohol up and I sleep good and I eat good and I surround myself with only positive people. I'm 66 years old, but I feel 21. I'm ready for love again, but only real love. Fun fact. That big island in the picture is Anvil Island, near Vancouver, British Columbia in Howe Sound. My grandfather and his brothers cleared a plot of land on that island and now it operates as a summer camp that I grew up going to. The tiny island has a bird colony nesting on it and it's illegal to step foot on. Orcas, Dolphins, Harbour Seals, and Sea Lions frequent these waters. They're teaming with life.

I am so done with people and want to be alone in a cabin by the sea for at least a month with zero humans around to recover from being with a person daily since 2012. This music is helping me to get that balance back. It’s so healing and peaceful!

Funny how I first heard them when I was trying to create a reel on Facebook, then that one song led me here. Was it serendipity? Fate? Coincidence? Call it what you want to but listening to this calms me down. I've been spiraling lately and this sure does help a lot. I am in the phase of pushing away my fiance again when the Blessings started playing in the background, but when the line "Hold on to the ones you love" played, my heart sank, and I broke down in tears. I couldn't keep holding on to the past or living in fear of the future. I had to face the reality that things might not always work out the way I wanted them to, but that didn't mean I had to let go of the love that I currently have just because I am afraid. I made a vow to cherish every moment with the person I loved, to never take them for granted, and to always hold them close to my heart.

You may not see each other anymore but the memories will stay with you forever. The harmonising slide guitars at the end was an idea that I got from a Bon Iver song that I love called Beach Baby. Evermore About 4 years ago, Matt’s sister approached him and told him that she was struggling to find a song to walk down the aisle to on her wedding day. She asked if he could write a song for her. Of course he said yes! So he wrote this song and performed it with his brother as she walked down the aisle. After the wedding we both listened to the song and thought it was special. We worked on it together to try and shape it into something for Hollow Coves. The song sat with us for the next few years. Home This was also one of the first songs we wrote together. You know what they say; theres no place like home. Well it’s true. While we both love travelling and exploring new places; we also love where we live; our friends, our families. This song is quite simply about missing our home here in Australia. Blessings Blessings is a song of gratitude. It’s about recognising the little blessings that life has to offer. If we don’t take a moment to acknowledge them; we can often miss them. Practicing gratitude is known to be good for mental health; yet anxiety and depression seem to be more and more prevalent in our generation. I think this generation is just too distracted to stop and take time to be practice gratitude. We wanted to write this song to help people to realise that there are blessings all around if you just look up and take the time to think about how much we have to be grateful for. Hello This song was actually based off one of the first songs Matt ever wrote back in school. He stumbled across the song again during COVID lockdowns and some new verses came to mind. After he finished writing it he uploaded an iPhone recording to Dropbox where we both share new ideas. It was only up on Dropbox for about 5 minutes and then he decided to delete it. Luckily I had received a notification that it had been uploaded and listened it in those few minutes and I messaged him straight away to tell him that I loved it. Lonely Nights When we first wrote ‘Lonely Nights,’ we were on tour in Europe and missing home. We were reminiscing on times spent with friends and lamenting missing events. Now, given the events of the last year and a half, we can’t help but think that this is a feeling that so many people would have experienced, and may still be experiencing, through the COVID lockdowns and times of isolation. We hope this song is somehow able to give people a sense of peace and hope for the future

I love how much of your Australian voice came through on 'Home'. First time through the set (that YT randomly auto played for me) that I realised I was listening to an Aussie band.
