And then there's the fact that there's a way to kill Niall from outside of his boss room where he can't even hurt you (in other words, a boss that actually has a "cheese" strat). Quite handy if he happens to give you so much trouble that you don't want to deal with him but you still want to gain access to the Haligtree. I admittedly used that trick myself in my first playthrough because by that point I was sick of all of the game's "gank" bosses. One or two throughout the game is fine, but it feels like 50% of the games bosses are all "gank" fights. DS3 did a "gank" boss right with the Abyss Watchers, since they actually give you a tentative ally in the form of "Red Eyes", but Elden Ring just throws you into a fight with 2-3 bosses at once and just says "good luck!" without giving you any sort of handicap to make the fight a bit more fair.

Well, the first one is much more hidden when you think about it. On the hand, Castle Sol is a bigass castle in a pretty obvious spot.
