I would at least think the over 1000 years old necromancer would make the connection, but nope. Haachama probably unconsciously expected something worse in the waters given where she is living. Kanatan is forgiven by default.

@@desuvult8463 the first one gives some extra dialogue where you learn the Cat is the demon Ellen made a contract with to become a witch. For the second one you need a little context that wasn't in these videos. The diaries mention the witch was going to die soon... also did you notice how screwed up the witch's body was? To make it so Viola couldn't easily grab her body back the witch greatly injured herself before the swap, so if you just wait in the starting area without going in the house, after some time (I believe 60 minutes) Viola simply dies from her injuries and you can just leave the forest. I dont remember how the ending scene goes in this one though, nothing crazy though, it's more of an Easter egg showing how thoroughly this game was thought through.

But I think they're the only ones who got crashed by the eyeballs when they went to check on them. I've never even seen this death before.

I remember kanata interacting with the tadpoles, she noticed that they were the children of gonbe(frog) then was killed off.

I think they knew what was happening there.

I haven’t played the game, but isn’t viola just a normal girl? I think it would just end up that viola kills Ellen in her body then dies on her own. There is no way viola survives because there’s that ‘meme’ end where you wait for an hour at the beginning of the game and viola in the half-dead Ellen’s body dies off screen due to probable blood loss. There is no way Ellen returns viola’s body under any circumstances. So there’s really only 2 outcomes barring outside factors: Viola dies alone in Ellen’s body or Viola kills Ellen in her body and then dies as well. But I haven’t watched any of this game. This is all dependent on Viola being unable to use the body transfer magic herself. Or at least learn how to do it while restraining Ellen in under hour.

Well, the cat is a savepoint for reason. They could bring back Ellen everytime. So, it's already pointless to get catched on purpose. There is a lot of evidences about that. For an example, In this video, when you died from wearing the red shoes and reloaded the savepoint, The message will change after that. There is another one, if you ever died to a spike before the quiet room, when you reloaded the save and came back, the blood will appear there. Although, it was clean before. Both of this remind you that the cat teleport Ellen back to previous position before any danger. The cat have been helping her the whole time.

None at all. iirc the only other endings are a) Not entering the house n let it stay there for 1 hour and then Viola (in Ellen's body) dies of natural cause b) beating the game without saving once which is just the true end with a little bonus dialogue from the demon cat
