Back in 2005, when Crue reunited, I bought the meet & greet package. You can bring one item, for them to sign, so since TFFL was my favorite album I brought this version/pressing. I can't remember what I paid for it, at the time, but probably $20/$30. I figured the album was sealed so it would look good framed with the autographs. Turns out this pressing has become pretty valuable on it's own!!

It's cool to see people still get excited about this s***. It would just be hard for me to open stuff like that anymore. Just because those days aren't coming back and they're not making any more of them. About 10 years ago I bought the ultimate sin picture disc still factory sealed from 1985 and I still think about how crazy that is that that thing has just never been opened and I'd really like to start buying more records myself just because they are cool as s***

That's really awesome! That Leathur mix is THE BEST! Back in 1982/3, a (then) friend of mine bought the original (or second pressing) of that album and I borrowed it from him and put it on tape. I still have the tape and have transfered it to cd since then, and that's been the version I have always been listening to. Don't know if my friend still has that album, but I doubt it...I remember seeing him a decade or so later, and he wasn't a Hard rock fan anymore...should have bought it from him back then and there! But I'm glad I got the original mix on tape. Still my fav Mötley album to this day. I didn't know they re-released it in 2005. Well done, Brendon! Cheers.

I have that same connection to Shout at the Devil. I got it the day it came out when I was 11. It was among the first albums I saved up for and purchased with my own money saved up from working extra chores around the house and on our ranch!!! If you are interested in the others it was Michael Jackson Thriller, Kiss Lick it Up, Def Leppard Pyromania, of course Sbout at Devil and Ratt Out of the Cellar and 1984 by Van Halen!! I loved everything on Shout and soon as a gift received Too Fast from a friend. I was a Crue fan for life. I just want as an aside say personally the new Crue Dogs of War is a single I really like. I jammed it extra loud thru my Marshall speaker when it first dropped and liked it right away but I really liked it more each time I jam it. It gets in your blood after awhile. Tons of my buddies dig it too and some it took growing on them to come around to it. I want to thank you for your channel! I think it's the best channel on KZfaq to keep up with all music in rock , hard rock, and metal. My two recent purchases are the new Sebastian Bach and new Kerry King!! I enjoy them both. Before that I had picked up Judas Priest newest cd, Mick Mars, and Ace Frehley 10,000 Volts which I think is one great album from Ace. I've found that I like all these releases at you mentioned Bon Jovi needing a throwback sounding song well new single Livin Proof is pretty darn good my brother! Probably my favorite episode so far. Had not seen the reissue unboxed. Please update us on the sound difference from CD. My Leathur Canadian promo copy was purchased for $10 in 1993, I had no idea it was a different mix as it states Electra Canada. The mix is simply epic-have had groups of friends over to listen to it on my system (the vinyl). So many differences, so much cowbell-and On With the Show sounds so different! Congrats on your best listening investment ever!

I bought a mint Leathur records TFFL third pressing, still sealed about three years ago for $575.00 from the Coffman auction and can't bring myself to open it. It's now going for over a 1k. Not that it matters as I will never sell it.

This takes me back to being a kid and getting new albums or cassette tapes and I remember hearing RATT from my cousin and I was hooks 🪝 'Round and Round' I instantly got 'Out of the Cellar' while at the store I wanted a poster and I was maybe 12? Or 13? I heard Smokin in the Boys Room and I remember my cousin talking about them so they were my first 2 cassette tapes and I grabbed a metal edge magazine and I remember getting everything from my favorites Dokken Cinderella GnR White Lion Motley Crue Stryper Europe poison Kiss and so on and my room was covering with my favorite bands!! Later I started getting cds but cassette tapes were my favorite back then but sadly I lost everything in a flood back in '14 😢 nowadays I'm trying to get what I can but I'm handicap and pretty much stuck indoors so online and ebay or Amazon are my only option so maybe I get a cd or occasionally a few if I get a deal and I still get excited plus I found bands somehow I missed growing up like Hurricane Leatherwolf Guardian Bonfire and a few others but I love it and wish I could get more!! So many I need like Everything from GnR after Appetite!! But I want others also so I have to really decide what I want the most. I love 80's kiss and want them but I still want White Lion!! They have them cheaper sets and you get the good cds but no cases and from what I read and hear the music is perfect so that's gonna do for now. Very Cool Brendon . That is just plum awesome . I had a friend who always was on the new stuff back in the day and he always had the latest stuff when it hit the market . I remember when he laid this album on me and I was freakin' lovin it . First time hearing the Crue . Love this and all of their 80's stuff. The dude I am talkin' about here was my best friend and he was the first to turn me on to Van Halen when the Iconic debut album came out . So this brings back some fond memories . And that extra bonus 45 record is pretty darn cool too . Enjoy !

Great album. That one and “Shout at the Devil” are essential metal albums and are classics. Happy to see you pulled the trigger and bought the album and that it’s going to someone like you who really wanted it and is going to enjoy it and not to a scalper whose going to buy it to sell it for a huge profit.

Even rarer is the Leathur pressings is the original LP on Elektra Canada! Crue had just signed to that major label and were about to tour Canada... but the Canadian branch of Elektra did not have the remix yet! So Canadian Elektra had to issue the original Leathur mix due to time restraints! Later Canadian "Too Fast" pressings use the '82 mix, of course...

Saw Motley Crue in Edmonton,Alberta in a bar called the Riviera Rock Room and we were the only people there. Including us ( 5 )...grand total including staff was ( 9 ). Story was that the band threatened the manger for their pay. We chose to see MC on their first tour of Canada instead of Dio fronted Black Sabbath...how crazy is that ?

Had it on CASSETTE back in 1984! It was released officially in Canada on cassette for some reason in the early 80s.

One thing about being old, is you lived the exciting years of Metal. Concerts. Crue’s next album was amazing ! Then the next ! By that time, their were at least 50 great bands that were recorded.

I have the original Leathur Records version, got it when it 1st came out on import to the UK. Much prefer that mix to the Electra mix. Problem is it’s in a crap condition (got water damaged when I had a leak) but still plays well. PS: great to see you so excited about this purchase.

I have a Canadian copy from 83 that has the Leathur Records version with insert. Got it for $25 about 15 years ago.

Congratulations! I’d like to buy that myself. I love the Leathur mix, but don’t even own this version on cd. The Box set it came in is expensive these days.

The copy that’s in music to crash your car to is actually taken from an original copy of the album, since there isn’t an original master. So you can actually hear the pops and hissing from the vinyl

One the best albums ever. I do have that original recording on cd when I bought there box set back I. Early or mid 2000’s. And on the original they added higher hair on Vince’s head and he didn’t know it till it came out and was pissed lol. Don’t blame him but the original pic was on the Electra release

Anthony needs to have a “scrap disc” next to the turntable so that when he goes to play someone’s new record, he can put it on instead and lay down a long scratch to freak the owner out. I will lay down a nice chunk of change for my grail albums. Money isn’t too much the hard part, finding them is.

I used to have the original version of this album, at least I think I did! Back in my younger days I would buy any heavy metal album even if I had never heard of the band. I bought this album when it first came out. How much is an original copy worth? Last year I got rid of my vinyl albums, all 1200 of them! Several years ago I got rid of more and gave them to a used record store and I am sure I got next to nothing for them. I only had two Motley Crue albums, this one and their second one which I believe was Shout Of The Devil. I thought the first one stunk, but kind of liked Shout. So how much money did I give away when I gave this album a used record store???😮

I own the "original" original and it's such a different sounding album. The 2005 edition looks super simliar to my OG.

I generally know that this sells for between 200-350 bucks depending on the condition..If it were me, I would be happy paying $150..I know it doesnt matter what you paid, but everyone likes to guess anyways..

Pricing - can you select if you want different variant colors of vinyl or can you choose the normal black vinyl - which would be cheaper to make and prices to go down? it appears we are paying for the color variants which the younger generation wants and that's the reason they are charging these crazy prices - I get it to get people into buying records - make more profit - but do you have albums that have 2 choices color variants or just black vinyl - just curious?

Excited for you, I really am. You are like a kid in a candy shop but ....man, what is it about Motley Crue, Bon Jovi and Guns 'n Roses? Motley Crue hasn't made a good record since Shout at the Devil, Bon Jovi hasn't made a good record since Slippery when wet and GNR hasn't made a good record since they burst on the scene with Appetite. So many hundreds of better bands that didn't make it as big, it just sucks for really talented bands.

So on the previous video, you say that you would never pay that much for an album. I think we all knew that you were going to have that in your hands sooner or later.

You are holding a copy of a copy of either the 2nd or 3rd copy pressing (both released in 1981). The very first pressing has the logo in black and white with Vince's hair is ultra over exaggeratingly touched up without the sunglasses in the middle and the back layout. The 2nd pressing has the red logo,Vince's hair is less exaggerated and there are shades in the layout. The thing that differentiates the 3rd pressing from the 2nd is the centre disc tracklisting is Black and white and the 3rd pressing centre disc tracklisting is in color,hope that helps! BTW I bought the 2nd pressing for $7.00 brand new when I was 10years old! Keep on rockin
