In episode 11 we start to delve into my vinyl collection. Starting with a record that means a lot to me and the rarity of it's multiple pressings.

Great point Sean, that we can't take any of this stuff with us in the end. Enjoy it while it's here, and value is subjective too, so who knows if things might be worth something or not in the future, as long as they're valuable to us, that is what matters most. Enjoy!

Great video!! Always dreamed of owning a Leathür records edition of Too Fast For Love. Got the Elektra copy on cd back in the summer holidays when I was about 13 and played the hell out of it. It came with the bonus tracks and I was so hooked on the alt version of Too Fast, Stick To Your Guns & Toast of The Town (which I soon discovered Pretty Boy Floyd covered on their 1989 debut) I sought out the MP3’s and have often played them. Incredible record & a huge inspiration in my life 🤘

I found a 3rd pressing copy this past weekend at a local vinyl shop. Never thought I'd see one, let alone hold one. It was from the owner's personal collection. It was a beautiful copy. He wanted $450 for it. I'd love to have it, but I couldn't justify spending that much right now.

Dude Tommy was a huge influence on me as a kid and my drumming when I heard “Red Hot” I had to know how he was doing that and at age 11 I was told from my drum teacher it’s double bass! That song started me on my path and later into Morbid Angel style drumming & blasts. Also yes Tommy still does that to his sticks. I have sticks from Girls, Girls, Girls, and Dr Feelgood and they both have the routed grooves in them except by where the printed info and signature is on the stick. I had him sign both when met him here in Dallas. He continued putting the grooves until he switched from using wooden sticks to the Ahead graphite model sticks. The Ahead sticks just have the grip tape on the handle and no grooves down the replaceable shafts. Cheers man!

love the collection, loved your professionalism when you spoke with the neighbor of the poltergeist home in "cursed films" on shudder. I am a horror collector myself sadly all my posters, figures and masks were lost in a house fire in 2009 and some of the stuff was one of a kind or things that i will never be able to replace but I did become a huge Slasher/horror novelization/tie-in book collector and have even been doing narrations of the out of print ones to preserve them and share with fellow horror fans not lucky enough to be able to find or afford used copies of the really expensive books. Seriously man bad-ass collection there and really enjoyed your segment on Cursed Films, you have a new subscriber! :) I have a modest subscriber count of a just over 7k and I am definitely going to be sending as many your way as possible, any true horror fan would love to see the stuff you have preserved, those killer klown and halloween screen used masks are just WOW! Keep it scary, peace!

I recently lost every single thing I owned. Among it was about 40 vinyl singles signed by just about every 80s metal musician I got from an old lady neighbor who's uncle worked for Rolling Stone before he died. Including a STARS 45 that every musician on it signed. Never even got to get them appraised, but I imagine thousands. That's a tough one. Accepting losing everything is tough. How did you deal with it? I'm kinda fucked up over it.
@TheSlashTraxNetwork2 жыл бұрын
@@user-sw4qd2up2s honestly it still gets me but time helped and giving back by narrating out of print horror novels for those who can't afford them helped . I'm sorry you lost so much to, I know how it feels, wish I could give more advice but time and maybe starting some sort of new collection will help a lot.

Cheers Sean! The signed album to Kathleen looks like it may have been signed at the same session I attended. You saying Nikki was trying to figure out his autograph is like that on mine also. He signed it Nikki 6. The signing occurred on January 23, 1982 at Best Records which used to be in Cerritos, CA. I’m still in touch with one of the former managers and he claims that he arranged the in store signing. He also has a photo of him with the Crue from that day.

Crue fans were in the bathroom putting on eyeliner while older dudes scowled at them. One guy came dressed as Paul Stanley but he had the star on the wrong side, and the entire line shamed him until he went into the bathroom and washed it off!

I have a Coffman and Coffman press kit that came out just before the first Leathur Records pressing. It's in a thin folder / binder that has about 25 or 30 pages of bios, concert flyers, 2 b+w press photos and 2 color photos, etc. Nothing in my press kit has the items like the ones in the one you showed. I had a chance to meet the band during the Carnival of Sins tour. I caught a drumstick at the Shout at the Devil Tour in 1983 and always wondered about the grooves on the stick. I asked Tommy if he did that on purpose or if it was just from hitting the rims. He had no idea of what I was talking about. So I deduced it was just rim shots and hitting the cymbals on the edge.
