15 year holy priest healer here. This vid warmed my heart. We are so often overlooked, and considered the "basic healer spec" which infers that we are somehow less than the other healers. The currrent set up is awesome and the best I can ever remember. I only hope the devs give us as much attention as our more "bubbly" brethren.

I've been a Holy Priest main since Cata and tbh this is probably the best I've seen Holy Priests look. A part of me does still miss when their Holy Words used to be stances but I think this version of the class is probably the most versatile. Thank you for making this video and showing us some love. For years now Holy Priests have been considered the lesser of the two Priest classes -always second best to Disc players. It's nice to see some recognition for us even all these years later ♥

Good job!! Holy priest is the original healer, glad to see the kit is still working well for people! I first started with a holy priest in vanilla many years ago, at that time many many things were different... We used to run Greater Heal with a 3.5 second cast, we were always slinging one and canceled it if the tank wasn't taking damage... We used to have rank 1 Heal on our bar because it got spell power at full conversion and cost 10 mana so it was used during periods of minimal healing needed!

I used to play holy good 15y ago and dropped it for "more advanced" healers but I think like with Mercy (from OW) the seemingly "easy" option isn't really that easy if you wanna play it well and in the "right" hands can hold its own. I'm so glad you took the time to play this spec and really give it a chance. I have played holy priest for many years and it is such a great way to heal! Holy pally is my main but this is a great spec for easy heals and easy runs. The diversity of the ways you can heal are great and they hit hard. Keep playing holy priest, my dude, and you'll have a good time. I appreciate the fact that you put this out there because a lot of people have a negative opinion of the spec and people like you showing how great it can be will hopefully get more players to give it a try.

Thanks for the video Bowser! I have to agree, honestly this is also why I love Rsham as a healer, they are just pure triage. As a purely Pug player, Both Hpriest and Rsham are the two classes I feel I can truly just make up for those common pug mistakes and keep the group up. I love Disc but with pugs taking constant avoidable damage. holy just does the most.

Im so glad you mention how good holy priest is, recently I started healing and watched your other video ranking all healers, where holy priest ended up somewhat low, and I saw similar trend in whole community and also other content creators, despite I chose to go with holy priest because how smooth and intuitive its gameplay felt and now I cant go to other healers because they feel somewhat too conditional and slow. :D

Right when this video came out, I took my priest and switched it from disc to holy and it was way more enjoyable! Suddenly I've timed all keys in 20 in fortified and I'm now working on tyrannical as well! It feel much more smooth to play, I love it! Thanks for the suggestion!

I’m 3358 disc and 3574 holy (as of last night, 4/2) and my best summary of the priest healer specs is that the skill floor with disc is considerably higher than holy but the skill ceiling with holy is considerably higher than disc. People that look down on holy don’t know how to play it well.

Love this video - started healing as a priest back in TBC. Hit 3.2k as disc in DF S3 and then 3k on all healers (except pres evoker - just ran out of steam). DF S4 I’ve decided to play holy for the first time since BFA and man, I’m LOVING it. I do wish there was a dependable AOE heal ala Chain Heal but tbh, the single target heals are so strong that it doesn’t really need it. Also, THE DAMAGE. I’m hitting 100k overalls pretty consistently with 490 ilvl and some packs even hitting 300k dps. They’ve really turned holy into a powerhouse and I love it. It really is the ultimate PUG healer along with resto shaman.

I did my healing apprenticeship as a Holy Priest. They are great healers in their own right and they are a great way to learn the fundamentals of healing in general

A lot of the player base looks down on the holy priest. Depending on the expansion and season, that's warranted. But this is true for every healer. Some of the impressions that holy is easy, comes from their ability to keep people alive who don't know how, or care to avoid damage. Or don't understand how or care to use their damage mitigation toolkit. As you said, holy is triage. At least in season 3 of Dragonflight, it's powerful triage. I'd like to heal disc more, but it's more stress than I want in high level pugs, with dps who have tunnel vision and feel avoidable damage is a healer problem. Holy is fun right now.

I was coming back to wow after a break from DF launch. I kept logging on and afk-ing in valdrakken because I had no motivation playing chars I started at launch. Until tried holy priest. From that point I became motivated to push m+ and so far at 2800 rio. Tried resto and disc because of "meta", but got bored so fast!

Holy priest is one of my favorite specs specially now that it deals a lot of damage on keys :P Having tools to regain mana and play efficiently is something all healer specs should have!

Yeah, holy priest is actually a lot of fun. Only thing I don't like about them is their lack of a decent AoE heal. And the only reason that's important right now if for a few bosses but it could be a bigger issue depending on healing patterns for the season. Would really like to see some sort of decent burst heal spell that's not a small range like Sanctify.

I started playing Holy for mage tower purposes (avoided other healers coz I wanted to snipe the transmog and mount as it was my last challenge). Having only expience as healer in shadowlands S2 Rsham and im just a ksm andy the spec was hard to keybind at first but once you get going and as you described in a previous video to use your mastery to the fullest healing and spreading love to all targets, had multiple parties questioning me how the F* I kept them alive with low gear and only 2p while doing somwhow good dps. I like to run the talent thats a choice between 3% extra juice or the big heal on a target below 30% this works awesome for dispell affix and in pugs its gg ez key if you aren't confident, once I had my 4p I've been using the 3% juice and is op but i miss the diligence of the pocket lay on hands that has no cooldown technically. My pug adventures Went from 11s to 16s and finally a 21 with a couple deaths but thanks to spirit nailed a from the grave badge and blasted the key for my KSH as healer :). Mage tower was gg no ree with sweat and undying respect to knife dancers, love my maho shoujo Hpriest

I'm usually a Disc Priest. I switched to Holy this season because I find the Disc rework to have a very boring rotation. Holy Priest is now my main healer. I think they are fantastic, I just wish they had 1 more big CD. Right now, I only have Guardian Spirit and Apotheosis. My PI isnt really a healing CD because I always do it around a DPS CD. Should I be taking Divine Hymn in Mythic+? Thoughts?

I was/am Season 1 3k Holy Priest Missed top .1% by about 100 points that season. Season 2 3.1k Holy priest 3.1k Holy Paly 2.8k Resto Shami (i no lifed that season) Season 3 Skipped. Work got busy Season 4 ATM 3.1k Holy priest. I have to say, the state of Holy Priest is the best its been all expac. Really good. I am pulling 550k-600k spike DPS on large pulls. This helps the group burst down big pulls before we run out of aoe stops. The throughput is really solid too. 450k+hps on fights like Khajin. We have GREAT single target healing. Can 1 shot any dps in the group from 1%-100% with a crit Serenity. Pressure healing with mastery (even just at low amounts for M+ but i do stack more mastery for heavy boss dmg fights on Tyran weeks). All in all, were in a good spot. We have 2 blind spots. 1. Our aoe healing is lacking. Sanctify can do pretty good, but is not a substitute for a wild growth/efflorescence or a healing rain/chain heal. This seems to be getting fixed with a 400% buff to Devine Hymn in War Within. 2. Lack of legit external cds for tanks or other squishes. Dont get me wrong, Guardian Spirit is amazing. I use it almost on cd. Its really good. But having some kind of external DR would be nice. Something to help the hunters or mages (who dont pop defensives) and keep them alive. All in all, damage is amazing. When I have a good group and i can free cast, I am slamming out the dps. Generally above the tank if i dont have to heal much. The throughput is a flip of a switch. But the prentitave DR is not that great. Sure i have a shield, but that equals about 5% of someones health pool. Not very reliable on a 15 tyran when a squishie is getting blasted with the bleed AND a the stomp from Sentinel Talonderas in Uldiman. If they can give us 1 external DR CD for this situation that i can throw on them, ill be happy. PS. I do make up for this with some trinkets that allows me to throw a massive shield on them, but if i had that in my kit, i wouldn't have to waste a trinket slot for it. Just my thoughts.

Dk dps main here. Im doing the same thing - pushing all my healers to their limits. Got them from 450 up to 470 ilvl, reaching 1.5k on them, having a blast. I played disco, wasn't to eager to play holy (i leave it for any raids i may heal as priest) but this looks so simple and fun in m+ - im gonma give it a go next time im playing my priest 👊

I think holy priest is fine before extreme high key where they just don’t have any sort of damage mitigation for others to survive some scales up mech. But in terms of reactive spot healing, probably only MW come close to match them.

Holy is quite solid, pretty much the staple healing spec. It's AoE healing is quite poor, so much so that you should rarely even use PoH outside of a raid healing build, so almost never in M+ (helps reset holy word though). I'm not doing all the healing specs like you are, but I did push up an HPal, so I've got everything but MW/Disc this season (I just push to 20s then alt).

Long time Holy Priest one-trick here, it's nice to see the positives sometimes and helps balance my thoughts. HPriest hasn't had a talent rework yet and it kind of worries me because I do think Holy Priest should remain mostly where it is: a basic healer with [all of] the fundamentals. It definitely feels better in M+ now with stronger single target healing but like you said, the AoE healing is lacking. I don't particularly care for the single-target healing, though that is effectively "optimal" (PoH and Circle do too little in most situations), but I get that a lot of people like it: it's straightforward. That style should be there. But I'm a button goblin. Give me lots of [good] buttons. I play PoH/CoH just because I like to have them (but also play with Trail) and wish they were stronger. That's what I hope gets looked at. Divine Image comes off a bit too strong, in my opinion. It's way too rewarding for a passive (over Divine Word) and I hope that gets fixed. Divine Word (Chakras 2.0) should allow for the stronger skill expression since it's an active ability, but it can't compete with the massive passive power of Divine Image with our Tier set and that makes me sad. Still, it should be good, because it is good fundamentals; I hadn't really thought of it that way until this video. Cheers!

Playing a lot of holy latlely, its really fun to play and feels storng. But priest overal is worst at low pugs (10-20)… just cos it dont have a lot of cc. I break 11 brh fee days ago on dc, cos no1 used interrupts and cast just start to 1shot if you keep it going. Holy a bit better.

Well to be fair they got some buffs. And as easiest na..I play holy as my main for long time since BC..I play monk which by far is one the easiest this season, Paladin which also is easy..Maybe it is because I main healing always, I do not find any healer hard..My Holy Priest by far was the hardest to get my key up. My Monk is 3k IO in mythics.I do not like Shammy play style or resto druid.Not that they are hard just not my thing.The Dragon just all around don't like.Now going back to my Priest a lot more easier in mythics and 2500 IO on her..

Holy priest is fun, but it's way more mana consuming then the other classes and people don't even waiting for you to fill up your mana bar, because they just running and pulling constantly, so i swapped to evoker. It's much easier and i don't need to buy six type of foods and buffs to maintain mana. Honestly i don't even know why is mana exist in this game, it's just ruining the experience for me.

I’m so over the “ holy is for beginners“ line. There are plenty of other healers that are just as easy to grasp as holy priest Druids, Shamans and even monks aren’t that complicated to play. Yes, there are some more nuanced healers like disc priests and preservation evokers that have steeper learning curves. but I feel this “beginner” label harms holy priests, and colors them in a light that is less worthy than other healers, which is frustrating.

stupid easy just heal everyone one and not the same time twice unless theyre dying frfr and its group healing with 2 buttons plus a sprinkle of prayer of mending its so easy and nobody complains anymore if a healer doesnt want to do dps lmao

Holy Priest is best for pugging because it's the best for fixing other player's mistakes. Prayer of Healing is a trap never use it. The secret of Holy Priest AOE healing is Holy Nova... not because it's good or mana efficient but when you heal nearby allies and does AOE it's just good. Holy priest sounds great but why it's never top tier? because at competative play or even when pugging with competant groups... your healing isn't needed as much and your damage output isn't that great compare to a druid who knows how to cat weave or a monk who does substained aoe healing via mistweaving with almost zero mana... at the end of the day in the days where MDI runs 4dps 1 tank comp... healer's role is diminished and especially healers like holy priest.
