I absolutely LOVE this. I can see that Kevin would run away from home, fed up from all the unpunished mistreatment he suffered from his dysfunctional family while his parents are purposefully negligent of his wellbeing and punish him unfairly for things he is not responsible for at all, hatefully disowning himself from the McCallisters, changing his name to John Kramer, attempting to make it on his own. Kevin (now Jigsaw) would build devices to torture the McCallisters, mostly Buzz and "Uncle" Frank, and maybe his parents, too as punishment for their poor parenting, narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), and severe mistreatment of him, swearing that one day he will "teach them all a lesson they'll NEVER forget."

The time lines don't add up. Jigsaw was born in the early 50s and Kevin was 8 in the first movie. It would have to be set in the early 60s. That's a stretch considering it looks very late 80s or early 90s. The movie was coincidentally released in 1990.

Yeah but he also got over his Furnace-Monster fear in the first Home Alone when he was doing Laundry, he hallucinated it again and just said: "Shut up." And got over his fear really quickly. Also Halloween was 1 3/4 months away from the time this took place in.

The "hallucinations" and the fight with his brother seem like a reach. The hallucinations are just kind of an exaggerated version of how a kid would see something he believes to be scary or a monster. It also helps make him being scared of the furnace completely clear and a point. And the brother thing is something that's been portrayed as a normal fight between quarreling brothers. I mean, look at Malcolm in the Middle for example.

According to the lore Jigsaw died in 2006 at the age of 53 or 54 meaning he was born in the early 50s. The time lines don't quite add up. If so Home Alone must be set in the early 60s as Kevin is 8 years old there. It's a stretch.

Some misinformation that id like to clear up. A. It was not Johns cancer that motivated him to become Jigsaw. After he was diagonsed with cancer he attempted to take his own life by driving off a cliff and surivied. He was amazed that his body could survive suicide while fighting cancer, that he decided to test other's ability to surivie. 2. Traps. Each trap is specialized to who its for. The furnace is not from one of John's expirences, but rather Obi's (who the trap was for). Obi was a pyromaniac, and having him go through fire to live is why he created it.

I was hoping for a decent laugh. Screen Rant failed me on both accounts. By the way, doesn't that clown doll look like the one from Poltergeist? It also looks similar to Pennywise. Jigsaw, on the other hand, looks more like a "dummy" puppet -- such as what a ventriloquist would use. I don't remember which Saw movie it was; but Jigsaw was originally a doll for John's son. The doll didn't even look ANYTHING like a clown. Markiplier & Jack Septic Eye are both KZfaq celebrities. Both had colored their hair. Both no longer have colored hair...and stated that they wouldn't be doing that again. The evidence is clear! Sean & Mark are the same person!

Kevin is straight up torture in the name of self preservation, while Jigsaw give the choice of sacrifice to save another or to be selfish, where chosing self-preservation almost always leads to dead.

I've heard this before. Makes sense. Kevin's family were all rotten to him and left him on his own twice. He has abandonment issues and resentment towards his family. He has anger issues by hitting Buzz in both movies. He also has issues with his mother. These are all classic signs of future disturbing behavior. Instead of calling the police to tell them The Wet Bandits are going to be breaking into his house, he devises a plan to set traps for them releasing his anger onto hurting them, which he feels enjoyment from. And his methods of torture increase in the second film. He lacks sympathy and feels enjoyment from others suffering. He's also a white male who are statistically more likely to be serial killers.

@@zenith613 One way to look at it is how many homes have a basement with a furnace in it quite a few especially in the 90s when HA takes place. Kids are often know for being scared of basements and what they perceive to be down there and I believe the furnace used in the saw movie was for cremation while Kevin's was a wood/coal furnace. Another thing to keep in mind is that the human mind is predisposed to see faces even in inanimate objects it's just one way how humans have survived so long.

Nice Theory but your age difference of the guy that played saw and Kevin McCallister is all off Kevin would be about my age the guy that played saw was around 50 something years old on top of that you said Kevin had a videotape of Uncle no Kevin in part 2 only carried a cassette tape recorder

Kevin used a TalkBoy FX Plus which only recorded audio onto a cassette tape. Lost in New York was basically just an advertisement for it. Being a kid in the 90's was a blessing.

I like this theory,its really interesting. But those of you who believe it miss a really important fact. Jigsaw is 52 when he dies which is in 2006,Kevin is 8 in the first Home Alone. So with huge age difference theres no way this theory can be true. Its a interesting theory and it would be cool if it was true. But theres no way it can be with the difference of age in the timeline.
