Wood processor that we built in the shop over the last year. Running a 27 and 26 hp Koehler commanders on the main wedge and saw chain. Also have a Harbor Freight 13 hp engine for all the accessories. Main pumps make 31 gpm at 3000 psi to the ram and saw chain.

Well done man. Nice to see a fellow machinist step up in the firewood realm. I'm just about to embark on my own processor as well. Nice swiss machines back there.

Those controls that close to that 3/4 pitch chain scare the hell out-of me

This looks awesome and I can see that its been working well. Can you share what you used for the saw? Motor, mount, oiler, etc. I'm working on some plans to build a processor, not as extensive as yours but have been looking for some options for running the saw. Thanks!

It has ran very well, we have ran over 100 ton of wood through it so far and still haven’t had to sharpen the chain.

What hydraulic drive motors did you use for for the log feeds? Also what pump do you have them mated to? Looking to build a firewood conveyor and that combination you've done seems to be perfect.

m.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200737735_200737735 Thats the motor i used all my conveyors and too roller geared it 3:1 or 4:1. Runs on a 6 gpm pump

@@mowbetter2010 I appreciate the info, If I'd ever want to make that buck saw, what hydraulic motor did you use for that or what would you recommend ?

What is the idea behind 3 different engines to run various pumps for different parts of the processor ? Did you just have them sitting around extra ? Seems like one larger engine and pump would cut a lot of complexity, and hydraulic plumbing, and points of failure.
@mowbetter2010
@mowbetter2010 2 жыл бұрын
Well there is a couple reasons a three stage pump is super expensive and a large diesel engine is more expensive and heavier. The hydraulic plumbing is really not that bad two intake in a T to combine the outputs of the big motors it would still need to inputs for three stage pump. All in all it was just cheaper to build my first one this way

did you build the hydraulic saw or buy it? I am wanting to build mine because of cost. where did you get the bar /chain and parts or if bought ready where? thank you
@mowbetter2010

I built all of the saw bar pivot parts. The bar came from ebay and the chain from local saw shop cut to length.
@johnmorgan2430

It's pretty dangerous that saw bar out there by it's self close to the controls needs a guard
@mowbetter2010
@mowbetter2010 2 жыл бұрын
It has a guard. The c shape will catch the chain if it ever comes off

@@mowbetter2010 you will never put a log who weighs 5000 kilogram on this and you will use only 4 functions, load saw, cleave and adjust hight an the wood splitter.
