Added a few upgrades this week to make it even easier to use.
6 way wedge
Spot weld of in the pusher for some grip.
Mover the wood chute back 9.5 inches to reduce wood fall off back and to help with wedging pieces getting stuck.

Thx. One fourth the cost and will still bust about 1.5 cord a hour.

@@mowbetter2010 John, why did you use an on board engine instead of running it off a tractor's Hydraulics ?, really nice build and functions well with the extra splitters . thanks from Ireland and have a happy Christmas.

After this video was made i had found that my relief valve was set wrong from the factory. Only set to 2000 lbs. i set it up to 3000-3200 and now the saw doesn’t bog at all and the motors grumble as it cuts. I will have another video of that coming soon after this freezing weather passes. Thx for watching

That is awesome. Good job on the design and build. Only thing I’d like to see you add is a safety shield of some sort. You are close proximity to that bar and if it ever broke and threw the chain id hate to see you catch it.
@mowbetter2010
@mowbetter2010 Жыл бұрын
I was scared of that at first too. As long as the chain is tight I don’t think it will ever come off.

Fair enough. Just an observation. Been watching some other videos of harvesters and the chains flying off lol. Thought it might be nice to have something that’d act as a crash guard, so long as it didn’t block access to the splitter area.

Sweetness. Nice job. Very nice craftsmanship. Looks like you are cutting mostly 16” pieces. Would it fit two 14” pieces. Two cuts them one split cycle. Not that it’s not fast enough though. Ha. Awesome job
@mowbetter2010
@mowbetter2010 Жыл бұрын
It sure would do two shorter blocks but sometimes they get in the way of the drop of the saw and makes it hard to move them around. I split 18-25 wood most of the time but this fella wanted some 16” which you was spot on by the way. Lol thx for watching

I built all of them I have considered making them for people. I picked up the bar off eBay and the sprocket off of a forester website they had it the cheapest. The motor also came from eBay 074315daw. Thx for watching!!
