Thanks for this - really informative and takes some of the mystery out of the mighty TPI 👍

Sorry to hear about your pops, I've been there. Your bike sounds so clean off the bottom, I have an off idle sputter that is driving me crazy. It's a 20 300, s3 head, get ecu, fmf gnarly. It's not every time I come off idle but it's a lot. 0 to 1/2 throttle off the pipe, I've tried lean, rich settings, seems sensor related but just guessing at this point. Any ideas?

Have you adjusted the PV at all? Check the CCP sensor pipe and brass barb first. If no change try adjust the PV. Record your base setting ie number of turns out to flush with case. Go back to base setting and then adjust 1/4 turn out at a time whilst testing. See if any change. Don’t know much about the Get stuff so it could be a map issue.

Robbo, Can you read how many hours the engine has been running with the ELM327 OBD2 tool?

No mate you would need to take to a dealer for that.

Where is your diagnostic connector, I don't have a 6 pin anywhere? It's a te250i and it's not on the loom at all, all I have is a red plug next to the ecu

What year bike?

@@RobboRobinson 22, after a little research, I think it's a red plug beside the ecu closer to the fuel tank. Although I'm not sure what adaptor lead is required for it.

@@rob9665 you need the new red euro connector cable which is on all the GasGas,Husky,KTM bikes since 20-21. www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwiTtrGluu37AhWHy-0KHY9TAuYYABAOGgJkZw&ae=2&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESbOD2PtG3SFoyOxmEwJs_8espZBCUcZS5iRJPPYndS68a-RnJS6rKYvj_m439IntPg5WP0iibl-k7lSnMamSQd-3YwAoLFSlxAFVcXzWjkI553yqqakLq_02Z2Mt22JwhagKkS9G-gZ7MkPwffg&sig=AOD64_2wPpn58oO73O4d08eSMgr357QT9Q&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwjU96qluu37AhXTSUEAHcpbCM0Q9aACKAB6BAgCEE8&adurl=

Which year & bike do you have?

I dont have an documentation or offical "wording" on this but ive heard the bike needs to idle between 1400-1500 rpms. Anything more or less than that will cause issues. Alot of riders are installing the idle screws and idling the bikes way to high which is causing the ecu to do weird shit.
@RobboRobinson2 жыл бұрын
Hi there mine idles between 1450-1550 I find any lower it tends to stall easy on descents but yes you are correct the idle needs to be as near to 1500rpm for good running from my experience. No issues with mine.

If you got 13,33% if it stands an runs, so why you have to check your voltage of the sensor if it´s 5,8 - 6,0mV? Sorry I don´t get it ;)
@RobboRobinson Жыл бұрын
It’s about the ECU fuel rate. Once the TPS voltage is set you can then adjust the air screw. If let’s say the tps voltage was 5mv and you had the air screw turned out too far it would be way too lean and lean throughout the Rev range. By voltage you know the butterfly is in the correct position. To high voltage can cause over run or pipe bang on throttle shut off. Make sense bud.
@DMC-179 Жыл бұрын
There are a lot of bikes with more than 6mV by Standard which runs perfect. The voltage ranges depends on the year of the bike. So I don’t think you’re right in general.
@RobboRobinson Жыл бұрын
@@DMC-179 you are quite right a lot of bikes are more than 6mv but aren’t most 4T’s. How many 2T are there that run fuel injection on dirt bikes ? Just going by manufacturer settings.

My 2020 is doing the opposite on the Map reading, as rpm's increase the map(ccps) decreases. The bike is not running how it should but I am pulling my hair out trying to diagnose, tried pasting screenshot but don't think its allowed. Thanks

My 2022 KTM 300 XC TPI has been a piece of crap from day one. I don not race it and have owned 2 strokes for 20+ years. My 1st KTM. Heard from dealer! 4rth time there. 😱😳 Cylinder and piston severely cracked. Also rear shock is leaking. Shock is mine to cover dealer said. Engine parts are back ordered to March 15, 2022. Due to holidays they will likely not hear back from KTM unitl 1st week of 2022 as to if they cover anything. Cost is approx. $2,900 for engine parts and labour. 3 possibilities for engine: KTM covers 100%, some sort of split betwen me and KTM (mabe me labour them parts), & I cover it all. It lacked power from the 1st minute so I suspect it had a leak or crack from the KTM assembly time. Bad part(s)? Bike has 7 hours on it now. Never rode it the 1st approx. 2 months due to my health reasons. It finally just stopped is why it ended up back at the dealer. It stopped while riding it. No noises or anything prior to this latest incident. 1st spoke to dealers in the 2nd hour. It had another ecu tried in it (I had to source that), had both pressure sensors replaced and the mounting tray replaced. Fuel filter, pumps, pressure verified. 5 iridium sparkplugs,....coolant level verified many times.
