I personally stack actual non-minced, relatively thin sliced meat in between to give it a better texture and structure, works really good. I tried it recently on some pizza, insanely good.

You could put that cuts in air fryer for nice effect.

Imo the best version of the at home version of doner is freezing a log and slicing thinly than frying in butter and not over crowding

How? Making gyro, shawarma, doner at home is commonly made this way.. a lot of people cook it in the oven but it can dry out depending on the meat. I've been throwing my ground meat into the processor for gyros for yearsss. So good

This was badly executed and commentated. Kidney and liver arent the same thing for starters. You also dried the meat out horribly and the cling film sous vide was both unnecessary and shite.

Na, in the west the kebab is actually steamed or boiled before it is cooked in the grill
@PotatoPirate12310 ай бұрын
Huh? It's raw when it's put on the spit
@gregeddie675110 ай бұрын
@@PotatoPirate123 na sorry you are wrong, unless the donner is made at the same restaurant it's being sold in, you buy it in pre cooked and frozen. I've worked in a few places in the UK. Traditionally it is raw emulsified lamb mince (sometimes with added chicken or beef) go to a kebab shop and just ask them 🤷🏾♂️
@PotatoPirate12310 ай бұрын
@@gregeddie6751 I know the factory that supplies a lot of the of the Donner meat in and around my city and it is definitely not cooked! I'm not sure what shops you worked in but this does not align with the suppliers I am familiar with. Besides which, if the meat came pre cooked it would not look anything like it does, nor would the fat constantly drip away as it does as it would render during the cooking process. It is very clear when meat is cooked and when it isn't.

Yeah I'm not sure what some people are having problems with but I'd definitely eat it. Also I know this would defeat the whole vertical rotisserie thing but couldn't you grill the meat under your oven broiler if you want to cook it from the outside, though it looks good enough to me without, YUM!
