I can certainly see why they are in demand. Cute, alert, mostly docile and a bit unique with their thorny defense. Also a good time to remind people to buy their exotics from reputable breeders rather than take them from the wild.

Cincinnati is so blessed to have these lizards. I didn’t know there was a species of lizard that have live births. Amazing!

Kenyon Bissett - Northern Alligator Lizards (native India Washington state) also have live births...

Wow. Another great lizard I haven’t heard of. This was so cool, especially when you were able to pick them up and show us their beautiful scales. I’m so glad they were rescued and came to a great home at the Cincinnati Zoo. Herpetology is fascinating, for sure.

They are so cute! Fascinating that they can hunt crickets already when they're babies. Unfortunate that they where brought in illegally, guess not all of them survived the journey 😖 Beautiful lizards, name suggestions are Cinnamon (as the rolled up bun), Flint (because they love sunny rocks) or Nandi (sweet in Zulu, for their heritage).

Want a miniature dragon? Get one of these little cuties. They may not breathe fire or have wings, but they've got the scales. Although you should probably get more than one. From what I've read, they're social lizards.

nice armadillo lizards. Although if you put them in bigger vivarium with bigger rocks is much better for them. I breed them too and even a video showing there setup i have. Very beautiful baby

Ilegal to own it by a person in the US But not by a ZOO ? Is very interesting how laws work , or should I say how laws are twisted for the profit of some .

they are legal to own in most areas just not allowed to be smuggled in i have 5 of these mini dragons

Well Brian since they have to die earlier to a heartattack from a lack of exercise in that cage be sure to give him lots of love. God wants you to take care of walco and the others and just make sure they're fairly warm and kill there food before you give it to them because they don't like it alive due to they're zoo life👍
