People underestimate how much work it takes to modify or update your theater - it’s hard to stay grinding when it’s functional enough to work as well, you just wanna chill and watch stuff 😂

I’m done with av furniture in theater rooms. Such a headache. Once you go rack, you never go back. 😅

Definitely a valid opinion/preference. I’m not ruling it out in the future, but I did this on the cheap and spent as little as possible. Main goal here was to get the center channel out of the entertainment stand by raising the display up. A rack would have complicated this project and raised the price considerably (HDMI cables, speaker cable for rewires, not even including the cost of the rack itself). Again, might be something I do in the future, just not right now.

So glad this is over. You did 99.99% of the work. Lifting that TV was scary. It was all worth it though.

I’m glad it’s over too! And hey, I may have done most of the work getting stuff setup, but I could have never put that TV up on the floor stand without YOU! (And then promptly taking it back off when I realized I needed to fix something) You rock and I love you!

I cant believe its been almost 2 years since you did up that room! I recently got permission from my wife to use the majority of my annual bonus to buy a larger TV. I went from a 55inch LGCX to a 77inch Samsung S90C. I feel your pain trying to measure up everything! As I had to reposition the wall mount it really was a real headache to calculate. Lifting that thing onto the bracket was also terrifying! I actually found that I prefer that then my projector, which I use on a 100inch drop screen. Though the projector I got isnt really designed as a HT projector, but it was free so cant complain. Looking forward to part 2, thank you for taking us along your HT journey

Time does fly! It’s hard for me to believe it’s been a year since I bought the Denon X6300H from a friend of mine! Crazy. That’s awesome and congratulations on the TV upgrade! I haven’t had a projector for years, but for gaming especially I’ve always preferred a TV for a number of reasons. It’s also impossible for projectors to compete with something like the S90C in regard to black levels and HDR. It’s just such a massive divide there. Projectors have their place but as displays get bigger and more affordable and offer higher end features at a relatively low price of entry compared to projectors, I think we might start seeing some diehard projector users switch over.

Well done! I used to use zip ties, but now use Velcro strips instead. Easy to remove and replace quickly.

Oh man, all of this looks a lot like what I go through every time I make a big change, especially the staying up late and making a mess since I don't want to clutter my living room while my family is awake. I don't do it often enough like you might, but I still wonder if I should have gone with a Salamander Synergy system with the built-in racks that allow you to slide your equipment in and out for easy access to the back panels. I didn't find the price worth it for me since I don't change stuff out very often, but you might want to look into that system as a Reviewer.

It’s never as easy as you think it’ll be haha! Shooting video does complicate things further and increases the time it takes to do it but it’s all worth it in the end. I’ll take a look at the Salamander Synergy system. Heck, I’ll try reaching out to them to see if they’d want to send me one to feature on the channel because the price on some of those units… Damn!

14:45 not sure if this happens later on in the build or if you're planning this anyways? But... after hearing that "dong" of the stand, i would highly consider some mass for the stand. I personally recommend the Atamacia actamites to take ringing out of the stand considering its proximity to centre speakers your planning to review. It could hurt/harm their audio presentation in your final thoughts. Everything so far is looking great. I have skipped a little of the time-lapse footage so again apologies if your video addresses this issue.
@HomeTheaterGamer
@HomeTheaterGamer Ай бұрын
You mean you don’t want the stand to sound like the St. Anger snare drum? Haha. Good catch! I don’t address it in the video, but that ringing was very intense before putting the display on the stand as you mentioned. I did put some black gaffers tape on the rear of the stand before running the wires (something I use to control cymbal ringing and tom ringing on drum kits when I don’t have access to moon gels). That helped drop the ringing down and is pretty much non-existent now when tapping the stand.

@@HomeTheaterGamer ahhh... have to admit, I would love to see someone's face while watching a home theatre set up video and moon gel starts making an appearance. Been using that on REMO or Evans heads for over 20 years now. But good old gaffer's tape to the rescue!!! The most indispensable tool of any professional musician. Looking forward to part 2. Thumbs up button will be another ready 😀

Wait a minute, I've forgotten how you have your equipment set up. We both have a tv that does eARC and we both the denon x6300h that is just ARC so what are you getting from the eARC? I have my ps5 straight into the x6300h so I get dolby atmos but I lose vrr and I use a second monitor setting on my pc to the x6300h and straight to the TV for 4k@120hz vrr. Did I I not understand your video on the extractor and how to use it for the ps5 to get 4k@120hz vrr and dolby atmos?
@HomeTheaterGamer
@HomeTheaterGamer Ай бұрын
It can be a little confusing. I have the PS5 connected directly to the TV, then I have the eARC output of the TV going to the input on the eARC extractor and I’ve set the TV’s ARC function to eARC. I then have the audio output of the eARC extractor going to one of the HDMI inputs in the receiver, which I’ve assigned to the TV Audio input (you don’t use the ARC connection on the receiver at all for anything). Hooking it up this way will get you the best of everything. 4K/120Hz and HDR with VRR and Dolby Atmos on the PS5. I also have my PC connected directly to the TV using a 4070 Super as well. I get all the bells and whistles with Dolby Atmos audio there as well. It’s great!

@@HomeTheaterGamer with zero delay? Also are you still using the Orei? That's a hell of a work around! Thank you for the excellent reply and information! 🤜🤛
@HomeTheaterGamer
@HomeTheaterGamer Ай бұрын
No delay to speak of thankfully! And yeah, still using the OREI eARC extractor (the cheaper and smaller one I purchased myself. It’s the HDA-927. I don’t think they sell it anymore unfortunately). Still works like a charm. OREI did contact me a few months after that video and sent me the HDA-939 for review, which is its bigger and more expensive brother with some extra features. Since they don’t sell the cheaper one anymore, I’m going to keep the 939 around as a backup just in case. The OREI really has been a game changer for me though. I see a company called U9 sells one on Amazon that literally looks like the same thing for around $50. I don’t know how good it is, but might be worth looking into if you need one and don’t want to break the bank.

Sure thing! Affiliate link below. It’s a great bias light that has a 6500K mode (a necessity for me) but it has occasionally lost sync somehow with Alexa for no apparent reason. No app updates, etc. It just decides sometimes that it will not work for whatever reason, so I’ll need to use the app to control it. And yeah… the snake pit of wires definitely needed an overhaul.
