What I don't get is that the only crossover setting I've ever seen is on the back of subwoofers. How does that affect the behavior of the other speakers? There's no wire running back to the receiver from the subwoofer (to tell the receiver what the crossover setting is at).

Question- Can I use the test tone on my Denon AVR to set the levels of my left speaker and subwoofer, when setting the subwoofer level? If so, should I still set the volume to 0.0dB and aim for 85dB on the left channel and 82-83dB for the subwoofer on my dB meter?

Purchased this recently and they included the foam ports now. (Not like I’ll ever want to use them though ;) ) Really awesome sub to me.

I shot this whole video with a DJI OSMO Pocket 3 and used their Active Track feature for this shots. It’s honestly been a game changer for how I shoot content in the theater room.

Ben thinkin,n still thinkin, about buyin the app, i got marantx ser 6015 with a 5.1,2 klipsch speaker set up., i manually do my settings,run the audyssey calibration,without this app,after calibrate is done,i charge the settings again manually,to my liknings. Think is if i Will notice any differences in my soundpicture? Guess most ppl use streaming apps, i use one that don’t compress music,BUT then i put an old judas priest concert in mu uhd player, And wow! Difference in streaming,and have music on a disc, music from a disc,beats streaming always,so still thinkin if i should get it or not!

Thanks! Your tutorial is great. I bought my minidsp 2x4 and am about to start the process with my subs. One sub will be in the front of the room and one in the rear. Do I need to play around with polarity, or it looks like it's called "invert" on the software you were showing. Thanks.
@HomeTheaterGamer
@HomeTheaterGamer 9 күн бұрын
Thanks for the Super Thanks! You can try playing around with the invert function using REW’s alignment tool, as it will show you pretty accurately and instantly what that will do to your subwoofers response. In newer versions of REW, you can also switch the alignment tool to “impulse response,” where you’ll be able to see the impulse peaks and determine if a sub needs to be inverted or not to match the impulse peak of the other subs in your system.

I don't think it's just because it's streaming. I heard Disney movies are in 1080p anyway because 4K CG is too hard to handle. In that case, IMAX wouldn't make much of a difference. I do like the taller aspect ratio personally.

Really glad Auro 3D is making a comeback. Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro 3D are all great, I like all three of them, I just wish the content available (Movies, Music, TV Shows and Games) did not lean so heavily towards Dolby Atmos. I especially like that on select titles, DTS:X offers the ability to adjust the volume of the dialogue only by targetting the object where it's located. I suspect Dolby could offer this as well if they wanted to, but it looks like they could not care less about such a feature. DTS-HD went from being the audio format of choice for 1080p HD Blu-rays years ago to now barely getting any support at all on 4K UHD Blu-rays. Meanwhile, Dolby Atmos is supported in many Movies, Games, TV shows and Music with no sign of slowing down... Really don't want to see a situation where DTS or Auro 3D are no longer options any more!

Hey Brad if we are doing the cross correlation/vector average first, do we use our vector average and aligned sum in the alignment tool? Or do we use the vector average and one of our subs in the alignment tool?

Is this only for bass or can i juse for mid highs or driver
@cbrb6594
@cbrb6594 20 күн бұрын
The se ret with this on your receiver is when you want greater bass before setting up turn your bass to low then turn it up very little whereas it is barely audible and voila that Audyseey Mic will have it thumping . Another note: you will still have to turn each speaker volume up because this mic will usually have the volume low and sound like trash

when you add 1db in the input sektion to reach the 85 db house curve at timestamp 13.40, then when you are done with audyssey, do you then level match by turning op volume in the AVR trim level settings

Great job! I just finished a refurbish of my HT. I was a bit more extensive than yours and took me a year. Rebuilding walls, turning the room 180 degrees and such. But I followed your guide to MiniDSP (again) and now it sounds great. I am about to plunge into Audyssey One too!

Great video. Why don’t you put your PC at the back of the room and run an optical HDMI cable to the TV?
@HomeTheaterGamer
@HomeTheaterGamer Ай бұрын
That's a great idea, however I use the rear of the room for products that's I'm reviewing and couldn't really fit it back there without the products spilling over into the room (first world problems as a product reviewer on KZfaq). I'm probably going to get a SilverStone HTPC case and put that into the entertainment stand at some point. I just didn't want to do that right away.

Hey Brad, nice setup. What's your room treatment on the walls? Those foam pads, where did you get them from? I just recently did my cables too, it's so much cleaner now.
@HomeTheaterGamer
@HomeTheaterGamer Ай бұрын
Hey Carl! Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Love your videos on MultEQ-X (they've helped me out a TON). The room treatment is some DIY acoustic panels I made when I converted the room (just Rockwool in a simple frame, wrapped with weed blocker fabric and some black linen from a fabric store). The foam pads under the center channel are Sound Addicted pads I got off of Amazon. Here's a non-affiliate link: a.co/d/2ekeZZX
