Our last rental before buying our house was also a townhome with our kids. It was such a wonderful transition home for us. We loved the community and trails near there and even though we are now in our dream home, I miss our townhouse and the memories there. It was super functional for us and easy to maintain because of its size. I hope you enjoy yours as much as we did!

It’s funny when you have babies your house gets filled with lots of extra things to find a place for like strollers, high chairs, potty chairs, and baby beds. Those things take up a lot of space but so necessary for those precious people.

Maybe you can try to put the couch off the wall and with the back facing the front door. Maybe with a small console table for keys etc. Than you also sort of have a separate entryway 😊. And than the tv where it is now, but the chairs on the opposite side of the couch

I think the couch works out perfectly fine. And yes, having the TV off-center would be odd. I like the place. it’s pretty darn nice.

I feel like you’d really like isamu noguchi style paper akari lamps. There are similar style ones that are less expensive but the general form of a big spherical pendant light can create really nice ambience.

Would the couch work pulled off of the walls and placed running the other direction, acting as a divider between the living room and dining room? I can't tell how much space there is. Often, it helps when furniture isn't all up against the walls. Just an idea. Maybe the coffee table would fit that way😮

Random, but I store our stroller just in the trunk of my car at all times. We don’t have a garage and I don’t want it inside either. I only ever need it when going places, but even if we could go on walks on our road, it still would work great to keep it in there 😂

I’m not a huge fan of black bench tops or American kitchens (all the granite) that I see on tv but I actually like yours. I didn’t realise our daughters were so close in age. I would swap the dresser in the boys room/ in the kitchen I would have put a bench (Ikea hack) under the window that opens with storage and is seating with a table. The living room looks awkward to me. If you don’t like the couch where it is now and want a sectional I think it will be too big and overpower the space. Not sure how to explain what I mean. I would just take your time and move the furniture around more in the living room and work with what you have for now. Not hanging the tv until your absolutely sure. Ou have only been there 2 weeks for me it takes time

I am very much enjoying your hand wafting in and out of view. LOL I'm joking but i really did think it was funny. I am sad about the coffee table. I loved the story behind it so much , but I'm glad you got a great price. I agree with you about the natural caning of the cabinet. That will be a very nice upgrade. As for the tv, there is no is other place for it to go without looking weird. Keep it where it is I think. IMHO don't get the couch with ottoman. It will cut down on your travel space through the living room. plus then you have the issue of the coffee table blocking even more. I know what I'm talking about because that is my situation. My grandkids ALWAYS are playing at the coffeetable and I would hate to not have that. AS for your pantry....SNACKS! Where are the SNACKS? I'm not coming over for lunch until you remedy THAT situation! As for your daughter's space you might consider getting a cute standing room screen so you could have a little bit more privacy As for the boys room, definately swap the dresser with the toy thingie. (bookcase i guess} That way when you walk by their room you don't see the toy mess. Can you tell I like giving my opinions? Your place is lovely and it was such a good thing for you guys to do.
