What a sweet little life you and Adam are building. Stitch yourselves in 10 years, and 20, and so on. Taller plants, veggies in the garden, changing rugs. A lovely vignette.

I love your vinyl unit! However I think it would look better on the wall where your shelves were, and then your vinyl wall behind it so it’s like a cosy music nook, rather than having it that way as the fireplace and shelves are on the same wall and looks a bit cluttered? Just a thought 😊

I would suggest making the space into a music/reading nook, perhaps by adding a small area rug to section off the space, some sort of chair or even just big cushions on the floor in the corner opposite the vinyl unit to sit and read, with a floor lamp or wall sconce above, and a couple of shelves running along the two empty walls for books and knick-knacks :) I love your channel Lucy and your vlogs are so cozy, fun and relatable - they are honestly my go-to when I am feeling down! X

An idea for the living room nook could be to move the vinyl unit into the little nook (having it facing into the living room) with the plant next to it in either corner (whichever one works best) and have the vinyl shelves as a mini print wall (that you can always swap out with whichever ones you like the most, that week/month). Then in front of that (where the cabinet is currently) you could get like a small armchair and decorate it with a throw, possibly? Not too sure how big the space is. As for the white space above that wall, you could maybe do a custom neon sign or something fun like that? I think it would fit into the retro 70's vibe you're going for :) All just a suggestion, can't wait to see what you do with the space!

Like everyone else is saying, that corner would be really cute with an antique-like mirror! I've seen a lot of people order antiques from Facebook Marketplace for cheap and paint them the way they like. OR it could be a cozy reading nook with a little bean bag/puff in the corner with some art/hanging plants!

I hope this home update will go in for a while, enjoy it way too much to stop now 😊 if you're looking for suggestions I would get rid of the flower bed on the right after season is over and put grass over it, garden will look less cramped and open up more. You can then add more greenery by putting a trellis next to the fance and hang plant pots on it, that way you gain space but don't loose the greenery 💚💚💚

The power washing was so satisfying, I power washed our rug & patio yesterday lol couldn't believe the difference, they both come up like new, I love the sideboard with the record player on it 😍👌 your bit of wall you could do a photo collage so people dont notice it till they actually get over near the record player,

The slabs look amazing! I don't know if anyone has suggested this but it's a good idea to fill in the gaps between your patio slabs with sand or something similar to stop them moving and to discourage weeds from growing in between them :)

Ooh, what a nice little vinyl corner! Personally, I think I'd put up some shelves on the wall to maybe put books? That would make for a lovely "hobby" display. Or maybe booze or mugs or something? Also really like the idea of a mirror there that some people suggested though.

A mirror like others have suggested or a medium sized tapestry would look good on that wall by the record storage! A tapestry would really break up all the glass and sharp corners of the frames and records and bring a softer touch into that corner. It would be an awesome textural element!

Thanks for this lovely video, Lucy. My mum's been feeling very down at not seeing anyone (she's really social) and not having much to do, and after seeing how much you liked them, I'm going to get her a couple of the sewing kits - and maybe some for me too! She's always enjoyed sewing, but more doing clothes on a machine. Now she can try something a bit different and have a lovely bit of art at the end of it. All the best and thanks again x

Yes! I found Sew Botanical on Etsy back in February and bought my first embroidery kit from them. Still working on it as I’ve actually been super busy the past few months (and I’m not great at sewing) but they were such a pleasure to purchase from and I’ll def be looking at their shop for my next embroidery project!

For the vinyl nook, you could get a tapestry or one of those pseudo-educational prints (like the seashell print you have) that hang like vintage maps used to hang in classrooms.

We are microwave less too as the one we had broke and whilst looking for a replacement we realized we didn't miss it. Been almost 2 years now and don't regret not replacing it. Just have to be careful when you buy pre made tray meals as most are mricrowaveable. Has encouraged us to eat fresh more xx

That was such an incredible transformation! My parents jet washed our patio and it didn't turn out that well!! Some of our slabs I think are from 70s when the house was built and they're so stained and have random black dots all over it so you don't get that pleasing before and after!!

I think maybe for that little corner you could but a chair and a shelf with books. Make it a little library and music listening nook. Then for the wall on the righthand side, in the nook, put a huge poster to cover the wall. Just a suggestion, can't wait to see how you get on!

i'd say making popcorn on the hob is better than microwave popcorn as it's super easy and much easier to tell if you're burning it, and you can put whatever mix of toppings you fancy.

Loved the Powerwash Boogie. What a difference and so satisfying to watch. 👍 Love the record unit. Still think it would look better in the alcove where you can see it from the sofa, because then you could have a small mid century chair near the fireplace if you got rid of that awful leopard (sorry I hate that thing).

Fully recommend that microwave-less life! Our kitchen just can't fit one and we've been fine for almost 4 years. I really only miss it for leftovers - and stovetop popcorn is so good!

On the record player you could swap out the 1975 record for a little bar or display some cocktail glasses. And for the wall around you could put some thin picture shelves and display your favourite records. Xx
