Friend of mine told me a couple of days back pbw and oxyclean are the same if you add some TSP to oxyclean. From what I recall her saying I think its 7 parts oxy 3 parts tsp. Good video! I love my arbor fab hop basket!!

Concur that PBW has a discernible cleaning effect beyond Oxygenated cleaner or BKF for non contact areas. Acquired a commercial 2.5L coffee carafe at work which was used for 5 years, although cleaned weekly with dish soap it was never deep cleaned. For 2 weeks I swapped out varying cleaning agents every 24 hrs with hot water these included, TSP, Fry-Kleen, Oxyclean 2x, BKF, Citric acid and big name dish machine pucks 2x. After this exhausted regiment finally got clean water after 24 hr even after shaking with dish soap / water. Thought all was finalized with the cleaning until I received some PBW and placed 1/4 tsp with hot water overnight only to find viewing tube visible with coffee coloured liquid and small chunks floating when shaken. Currently on second run of PBW and surprised what PBW was able to do further that other cleaners failed to do.

Great video! Question though. How is your water quality where you're located? I've read that oxiclean does not do well in hard water and actually adheres minerals to what you're cleaning. I live in Las Vegas where the water is hard and the question remains. Maybe I'll have to do testing of my own.

Would super washing soda or simply soda ash or sodium carbonate work as a cleaner? it's one of the ingredients in pbw a it's really easy to make from baking soda.

i might be wrong but just soaking that mesh in pbw solution does not really clean it. it just bleaches and makes it look clean but most of those particles are still there.

Not hardly a fair comparison when you soak one over night and the other for only two hours. If you want to be taken seriously maybe next time do a fair comparison.
