What a return trip to Kentucky, and the first ever fishing trip in the town I was born. The day started out before the sun came up to get on a 8 mile stretch of a creek that was shallow and beautiful. There is no way we thought the trip would be as good and have an ending like it did.

I look at this way. If the fish unfortunately dies. That dead fish will feed all kinds of other fish and creatures. Hes not going to waste.

My wife is from Alabama and was an avid fisher until disabled. You are just about the only one she enjoys watching fish, and you have the added bonus of sounding like home to her. She was like you with luck and she outfished everyone we know. She loved it so much that she dreams at night about fishing still, even though she can't do it anymore.

absolutely addicted to your videos especially when i cant go fishing. yet it makes me wanna fish even more also from my point of view, a fish dying from fishing is the cycle of life. we are like any predator but sometimes catch and release doesnt always go to plan but atleast we have a choice to let them go. it happens and will happen.

I know sometimes it happens when we catch fish that they swallow the hook & we have no control over it, I have cut my line to try to save them but sometimes it's their time to go, one time I felt so bad that I killed one & it was floating & a bald eagle came and got it, made me much happier that it was the circle of life, but what an awesome float with so many great catches, your do lucky to get to do what your doing & I know you don't take it for granted! God bless you!🎣👍

My friend deep hooked a big smallmouth once on a canoe/camp trip. We cleaned and scaled it, and covered it inside and out with old bay and butter and roasted it over the campfire. One of the tastiest fish ever. Just saying. I hated that it died but at least it provided a good meal for us.

Happened to my friend and I on The Lake O' the Pines in East Texas. On his 19' john boat out in the middle of the lake (big lake), we sat there with water just rushing off the bills of our hats. Then we looked at each other and just busted out laughing! Good times.

Great video ! It has every element for "Creek Fishing Adventures" award for the year ! Glad you were able to get back to Kentucky for a trip. Lots of beautiful fish for your group. When you were in the storm, I got a little worried about that Lightin' Rod sticking up on the back of your boat !!!!!! LOL ! As for the smallie that didn't make it, it happens to all who fish at one time or another. As you thoughtfully described, it became as the circle (cycle) of life. Always good to re-connect with old friends. Thanks for taking us along with ya'll. Perfect WORD at the close. Always be safe. Pap Blevins (S.E. Kentucky)

Hey I heard there is a big recall on Dodge Ram trucks, you might want to check on that. What a great trip. Great fishing, rain was okay, but the lightning could have been skipped. Went out on a high Cascades lake in and had just started across when the lightning started. Let’s see, metal boat, graphite rods, lightning every few minutes, nah, we are going back.
