Hi Lester Tan. When the pan started to have a slightly dark area on the surface. When cooking fried rice or omelet they will start to get stuck in the dark area. 😀😀 Thank you for the comment.

Would this process work on a T-Fal fry pan that is decently new, but I used a bamboo spoon to cook rice pilaf in it, and I see some markings (doesn't look like scratches, more like smudges that I can't remove with washing). Would this process remove the markings?
@HomeCookingwithSomjit
@HomeCookingwithSomjit 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lisa Romo, thank you for the question 😀 To my best knowledge, no, this process would not help as it's the seasoning process as recommended by the pan's manufacturer as part of the care instructions. In my experience, the non-food smudges that show up on the pan is due to the thinning of the non-stick coating. The non-stick coating on the pans usually last 2 years before eroding. I still have the older non-stick pans with dark brown smudging, and no washing or curing could remove them. Hope it helps 😀

Hi, which one is better : this non stick shogun wok or honeycomb wok from la gourment, my intention is for deep fry, steam, stir fry etc, I meant one wok for multi purpose coz I dun like keep to many kichenware & save cost 😁
@HomeCookingwithSomjit
@HomeCookingwithSomjit Жыл бұрын
Hi true_hunt. Hi, If for me I would pick the honeycome for all purpose as the non-stick pan is not suitable for deep frying, it can not withstand the high heat and will damage the nonstick coating😊😊

@HomeCookingwithSomjit

@ptr1968. Yes, it can be used however, the non-stick function may not work well. So it still can use to boil or making curry but may not be good for stir fry or deep-frying. 😘😍

I thought wood was usable for nonstick pans, is there a specific reason for ceramic pans?
@HomeCookingwithSomjit
@HomeCookingwithSomjit 2 жыл бұрын
Hi DramaticReaper, sorry for the late response. Yes, it is. Wood is suitable for a nonstick pan. However, after using a wooden spatula on my nonstick pan for sometimes I still find scratches on the pan nonstick surface. So I tried to minimize the damage by not using a wooden spatula on all of my nonstick pot or pan. The good quality silicone spatula is the best suitable for all nonstick pots and pans. Yes, the reason I am using the ceramic pan is that I love the smooth non-stick surface of the pan. It looks clean and also very easy to clean. I hope this helps. Thank you for the question.

I bought a non stick wok, Can I use the same steps for the wok because on youtube I can't find a single video specifically for a non stick wok?
@HomeCookingwithSomjit
@HomeCookingwithSomjit 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Eduardo Palacio. Thank you for the question. However, I don't have experience doing that so I am not able to advise on this. Sometimes, the material that used to make a pan or a wok might be different so it is difficult to conclude that they can be treated the same. I hope you understand. 😀😀

Hi mam... May i know do we need to repeat these steps everyday? Or its for the 1st time only? How about daily care?
@HomeCookingwithSomjit
@HomeCookingwithSomjit 2 жыл бұрын
Hi yash_ barbiev. Only for the 1st time before start using the pan. Daily care can be as per normal, use with medium and low heat, don't overheat the empty pan. After use, let it cool before washing it and use non-scratch utensils ie spatula, spoon or a sponge

Thanks for the tutorial but, I have a quick question.. Does this need to be done often? Or is it a one time thing? I recently seasoned all of my brand new non-stick pans and I want to make sure I don't have to keep doing this before use!
@HomeCookingwithSomjit
@HomeCookingwithSomjit Жыл бұрын
Hi Yuki Iasakii. Just do it once for a nonstick pan.
@juliusq75
@juliusq75 6 ай бұрын
Do it as needed whenever it gets sticky. That’s way too much oil, you need a very thin layer, nothing happened on the bottom where the oil was that thick. Do three- four very thin layers for old non stick. You can do aluminum baking sheets also. Avocado oil works great, if you want to get fancy you can do avocado oil and bees wax.

Hi MaLirio Fulleros, thank you for the comment 😀 I hope this video had benefited you in time. Unfortunately if there are scratches, it's possible that the non-stick coating itself had been scratched. The only thing would be to take care of the pan as long as the coating can last. Hope it helps 😀

@HomeCookingwithSomjit
@HomeCookingwithSomjit 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mikołaj Pietruczuk. If you have a choice I think it is not ok to buy if it is a defect. However, just a little bent still can be used with the gas stove but for the induction stove it might not sit well and move easily while cooking. I hope this helps. 😀😀
