RandumbTom reacts to Homefree's "Brothers In Arms" and this was delightful. I want to thank Homefree for making this, truly heartwarming. Thank you to all Veterans who serve to keep this country safe. I almost shed a tear! This was beautiful!

This one really shows their mastery of both sound and silence. Every pause is just perfection and the sound is incredible. Their cover of “Helplessly Hoping “ is another great example of this.

Thank you for serving our country. I am glad they chose Tim starting this song. Chance did a great job on this song. Tim is a great singer and songwriter and story teller. The harmonies are great and they are great singers. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Perfect choice for Memorial Weekend. This was written by Mark Knopler of the British band Dire Straits in response to the Falkland War (1982). The song was released in 1985. The Finnish a capella group Club For Five arranged it for a capella and graciously allowed Home Free to use their arrangement. Tim only added the echoes. We're fools to make war on our brothers in arms.

Their most hauntingly beautiful performance, in my opinion. I have yet been able to get through it without a few tears. My deepest respect and love to you and our service members and their families. Thanks you, and thanks for the Home Free reactions.

Thank you for your service, RT, and thank you for your reaction to this cover from HF. I would suggest checking out their collaboration with Lee Greenwood and the Singing Sergeants when they do "God Bless the USA". Another suggestion for a moving song/video is HF's version of "How Great Thou Art", and if you're looking for something fun, try "Champagne Taste (On a Beer Budget)" (Tim was one of the writers).

Thank you for your service, brother. I am a veteran of the US submarine force, and I understand what it means to serve, whether on the front lines or in a role that supports others on the front line. It still takes us away from loved ones and requires dedication to things well beyond our own priorities. As I no doubt know you are, I’ll be spending this weekend in a reflective mood, respectful for all who never made it home, rather than a “happy” one.

These mist-covered mountains/Are a home now for me, the narrator begins, contrasting that with the lowlands where he grew up. He foresees a time for his cohorts when they’ll leave the battlefield and return to their valleys and their farms, a fate he won’t enjoy. He also admires and cherishes his fellow soldiers’ bravery amidst the war’s chaos and tumult. In the bridge, Knopfler (who wrote the song) makes subtle criticism of the man-made borders that prevent a universal brotherhood: We have just one world/But we live in different ones. The elegiac final verse sets the scene for the soldier’s final hour: Now the sun’s gone to hell/And the moon’s riding high/Let me bid you farewell/Every man has to die. With his closing words, he speaks a truth simple, profound, and, sadly, often ignored by the powers that be: We’re fools to make war on our brothers in arms.

Hauntingly beautiful song and beautiful thoughts Tom. Loved Tim and Chance’s solos. Loved the echoes. It was a Dire Straits song about the Falkland’s war in the 80’s. Love HF’s version! Perfect for this weekend! 😪 My grandfather, father, brother and nephew all served.

There's no beatboxing in this one and I hope you have tissues handy. Their rendition is hauntingly sad and beautiful. The singing is terrific and the harmonies incomparable. BTW, Tim, Austin & friends do fund raising for at-risk veterans. Some excerpts are available on y/t.

This is one of my favorites. The harmonies still give me chills. God bless those who gave their lives for the freedom we have and for those countries that we e helped to be free. Thank you for all those that have served!! I highly recommend reacting to the video " The Star Spangled Banner As You Have Never Heard Before". Especially since Flag Day comes in June and the 4th of July shortly after. It is based during the War of 1812 with the British trying again to take over again. I believe that we all need to hear this and to know why we sing our National Anthem. Thank you again for your service. 🇺🇲🇺🇸

One of their masterpieces and one of their several tributes to those who have served. I have to compliment you not only on your comments but on the superb audio quality of your video. I love that we're able to distinguish Chance and Tim's voices in the harmonies.

I have always been a fan of this song by Dire Straits but think Home Free did an excellent version of this song. Tim's natural breathy bass was awesome along with Chance's smooth baritone & loved it when all the guys were doing 5 part harmonies. Who would believe humming could sound so good. They gave it a very solemn feeling. I love that they don't overproduce their songs. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there.

An anti-war, pro-veteran masterpiece. Both Mark Knopfler (Dire Staits guitarist) and HF are spectacular. 💜💜💜 Check out “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” or “Travelin’ Soldier”.
