This was just so stupid they let the guy who could end the human race just live butcher could have easily just taken ryan and run letting soldier boy finish homelander but they decide to fight soldier boy who is way less of a threat and not a 100% insane every bad thing is on the boys now like for real.

We've seen that the blast from Soldier Boy doesn't always kill sups and sometimes just takes their powers and sups as strong as Homelander and Ryan should survive the blast so it doesn't make sense to me that Butcher would've stopped him. Especially after a whole season of him doing everything he can to get to that point.
