Ok so I tried this yesterday and I use a otterbox for my mini....I used Velcro on the back of the tray and it works perfectly....thank you for this great video....I also would like to note that I had a extra tray for my case so I leave that in the car and one in the house :)

Dude! Awesome idea. I used it for my wireless monitor for the camera on my 30 foot 5th wheel trailer. The wireless backup camera/monitor kit came with several mounting solutions that none of which I wanted to use for the monitor because they required drilling holes or sticking stuff to the dashboard. Your solution is the KIND! Thank you so much for posting the video.

Just did this in my 05 Mustang GT with a Kenwood x997 head unit. Great idea. I did use a slim hard case tho and wrapped some black tape on the side that slides under the unit for a more secure fit. Good job for the money man!

Use the same idea and try mounting this on your steering wheel, i have done with success and is more steady that way. Also after mounting on steering wheel, unlock the accelerometer.

Heres a crazy idea for 6$ you can buy a brand new iphone mount from ebay and it wont fall and break your 300$ device

great but not a good option, better would be to buy a cheap ipad protector first, to attach the holder, then: a antiglare screen protector, to avoid it

that doesn't look appealing to stick whole bunch of velcro tape of the back of iPad, and it's not practical in case I wan to put iPad back to case. Decent holder on Ebay cost $6.95

You'll most likely never read this comment since it's four years old, but...I don't understand why people don't understand the difference between mounting and strapping. I'm tired of seeing videos pop up and believing their mounting methods are nothing but cheap velcro strapping.
