For anyone wondering how this works, limes and most other citrus fruits contain a natural ingredient called Pectin which helps sugar and acid coagulate to become a gel. Limes actually mostly contain pectin in their skin, so you'd have much more of a jammy/stickier texture if you used something like grapefruits, lemons or oranges. Or you can buy Pectin individually as an ingredient and learn a little thing or two about molecular gastronomy along the way. Hope this helps :)

Thank you for this recipe. My family is enjoying the different flavors I made with orange and bluberries as well for those people who have burnt the jamm Just cook it at a lower temp, and I move it from time to time and check on consistency desire. Then, I removed it immediately ❤

Learning cooking from KZfaq is the most frustrating thing I’ve ever tried..I thought I did exactly what was in the video and I burned mine. Ffs I need more specific information. It’s just so frustrating. Almost ready to throw in the towel and just door dash everything. :-/

Practice leadsnto perfection. We have all been where you are. Keep trying and watch out the heat...

Quit being a btch no one can hold your hand the entire way. Your heat was too high. I recommend medium and do things slowly. You dont have to rush everything on high heat

Don’t give up. It takes practice to know your way around a kitchen. Eventually, you can tell by how something looks what is going to happen or when something is done. Keep going, you will learn something with every mistake and soon you will be great at it. You got this. Don’t try to learn cooking from shorts, they are for people who already know how to cook and only highlight the most important parts not all of the steps needed. Start with videos that have all of the steps.

Strawberry jam. Minimum for good jam is 1/4th cup of sugar per cup of strawberries. I use to do 1/2 cup of sugar per cup of berries. ❤ Without the sugar... It won't set proper.

You should be sterilizing the jars first….
@kacwyo11 ай бұрын
If she is just making a small amount that goes into the refrigerator she just needs to wash the jar really good. Just like putting something leftover in the fridge...you don't sterlize all of your containers for that. She isn't canning as to where she needs to sterilize the jar.

@@kacwyo even when I jam a small amount I still pour hot water on the lids and seal. To each their own I guess.

I feed a family of 10. If I make this amount... I pour it into a bowl and refrigerate. It's gone within 12 hours. Lol

I done mine with honey as I had no sugar it came out great I've also done this with blueberries
@Drupta4 ай бұрын
It's better to add honey later on in the process, since heating honey causes it to lose it's nutritional value
