Always trying to further improve and exploit my SeaPerch ROV. This time with a handmade Dome from a simple 3" CCTV Dome available on amazon and ebay.
Making it pressure tight makes it very positively buoyant, however with some increased weights in the front region of your ROV you'll be fine.

Before using the hotglue, if you were to abrase the two mating surfaces with something like a rougher # of sandpaper, would that allow the glue to adhere and create a more effective water tight perimeter? Or, is the hot glue on the acrylic surfaces enough?

The problem isn’t the contact, it’s the bubbles and other impurities that can cause leaks. But it certainly wouldn’t hurt! So, sure. 😃

I am thinking of making a similar rov for the sea. But I think it might be difficult because of the currents. What should I do to make it stable? Do you have some ideas?

Yes: on board batteries and relays to control the power. That way you have a very small tether / cable exposed to the currents and a lot more power. But: that is very very difficult. Professional ROVs are built that way, check out www.homebuiltrovs.com for that. 😀👍🏻

@@renewable8051 you have to get a fixed system. An underwater camera with cable. Or - if available - a waterproof and pressure tight case to allow an auxiliary cable to be connected to your camera. The plug into pc or an above-water transmitter is a matter of software which has to be compatible with the camera system.

Hey! Bin ein totaler Einsteiger in diesem Gebiet und möchte ein kleines und günstiges ROV bauen, damit ich im Urlaub mit meiner Action Cam ein paar gute Aufnahmen machen kann. Könntest du mir da helfen? Sorry für mein Deutsch aber ich glaube, dass du Deutscher bist. '-)

Moinsen, ja das ist richtig. :-) Zu Deiner Anfrage mal so 3-4 allgemeine Tipps und Hinweise: Erstmal die Standard-Bauanleitungen zu einem simplen ROV - seaperch.org/resources/build/ - robonation.org/app/uploads/sites/5/2020/09/2016-SeaPerch_ROV_Build_Manual-12.pdf Leider auf Englisch, aber man kriegt das auch so hin. - Zum andern natürlich: stöber mal durch die anderen ROV Videos auf meinem Kanal, wo das eine oder andere (hoffentlich) schon verständlich erklärt wird. - Des weiteren ist mein nächstes ROV Video fast fertig wo ich ein komplettes ROV zusammenbaue (also der Rahmen mit Beleuchtung etc.). Ich hab mein erstes ROV nun schon so oft verbessert und erweitert, dass ich aus den ausgetauschten Schiwmmtanks, Motoren, Kabeln, dem Endoskop usw. ein komplettes ROV bauen konnte. Das muss ich aber noch testen und natürlich in Szene setzen, sonst ist ja langweilig. Und die Fernsteuerungen liegen bei mir mittlerweile auch schon auf Halde. :-) - Und last but not least ich werde dieses 2. ROV vermutlich am Ende des Jahres bei eBay verkaufen. Warum? Weil ich zum einen wieder mehr Platz in meiner kleinen Werkstatt haben will und zum anderen weil ich einfach keine 2 ROVs brauche. :-) Aber die Teile sind zu gut und schön, als dass sie ungenutzt blieben. Daher der Verkauf. Jetzt bist Du echt voll im Bilde! :-) Also fang mal an zu Recherchieren und ich bemühe mich das komplette Aufbau-Video in den nächsten 3-4 Wochen fertig zu kriegen. Halte mich gern auf dem Laufenden. Vereinzelte Fragen beantworte ich immer gern. :-) In diesem Sinne: frohes Schaffen.
