Such a great idea to use black coated trays. The black surface increases and multiplies the heat absorption. Brilliant! Even if the days weren't bright and sunny all the time, it would speed up the sun drying process a lot.

New here! Super thrilled I found this video! I have a couple questions. I don’t own a blender. Is that a a special kind or will any do the trick? Also how do you properly sundry? Is it direct sunlight? Is it covered? All I’m worried is if birds, insects, or dust try to get into them
@valeskadias8290
@valeskadias8290 2 жыл бұрын
You need to keep it in direct sunlight as it needs to completely dry since you want to make powder out of it(the no of days will depend on the weather condition where you are living) . There should be little to no moisture remaining in the end or else the powder will get moldy very soon (unless you store it in the refrigerator). You can use a bowl and cover it with a sieve that fits. Mostly people just leave it out without any covering of any sort but even my concern was insects and bugs. You can also try using mesh or the net cloth that they use for clothes if you don't have a big sieve and have to buy one just for this purpose. And for the blender any blender will do the trick.

What do you do to the ingredients in between sun drying? Do you chill them or keep them at room temperature while waiting for the next day to continue sun drying?
@bluelilly22222
@bluelilly22222 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, we have to keep it in the room temperature till next morning. Before making powder bring it to room temperature n grind it. Take a newspaper n spread the powder to cool itself from grinding. Add a t-spoon of salt to it, so that there won't be any mold problem. Then take a clean dry container, it can be plastic or glass, plastic is better. fill it up. Store it in fridge...it store up-to 6months easily.

Take raw mangos (kacchi kairi) peel the skin and discard. Then peel the raw mango completely. You will get thin peels dry that in sun for three day. Then make powder in mixer as shown here. Can be stored three to four months in air tight container on counter it self. Or you can use dried peels directly in curries etc.

If you have an oven, you could try placing on a baking sheet in a very low oven for about an hour, keep checking until there is no longer any moisture and then proceed as Hebbar does. There's no sun where I am, either!
