No worries buds just use a better oil like klotz super techniplate oil. Food grade castor oil is a last resort if you absolutely cannot get anything else

Get a quality race grade methanol and a quality Castor oil as well this is just a last resort if you can get nothing else with the drugstore oil it's very hidden miss sometimes it will work sometimes not you will end of wasting a bunch of stuff

Food colouring isn't necessarily a good thing to add since it has water in it and saugers in it best to run without it and 80/20 mix is usually what I use

You won't see spark Ignition for RC car engines and less it's something larger 1/5 scale i have tried gasoline mix in rc car engines and will make the engine run extremely hot and make much less power. And here most rc car fuel is usually between 8 and 12% oil you can get higher 14 to 16% oil but it doesn't help anything in land engines. 10% is most common in the brands available here. Airplane fuel is usually 17 to 25% oil here depending on what engine you need it for

@@thebug4046 Yes, petrol is not suited for little two stroke car engines, heat dissipation is a big problem. Not so on a four stroke aircraft engine though, although the engine runs hotter, the air cooling provided it's plentiful, is fine. Timing is best a little retarded and a shim to reduce compression helps also. The end result is a clean running engine that uses about 1/3 volume of fuel compared to nitro with very little change in ultimate performance....🤔😏🇬🇧

Just use normal after run oil or air tool oil as far as color just by klotz Castor oil or klotz super technplate it's red i will say the methanol isn't always very good mine had water in it and the oil separated out after 2 days so that was some money wasted just order race grade methanol if you can it works every time. this isn't really the best it will work if absolutely have nothing else available however I am going to see about getting some molecular saves to put in the methanol to dry it out as much as possible they Absorb water in alcohol then im gunna try it again it could have also been the oil something might have been up with it kinda the risk you take when playing with this kind of stuff ps you can buy fuel dye but it's very expensive you often have to get 5 gallons at a time about 300$ last time I checked People will tell you to put food colouring in but the problem with that is it's contains water which will spoil your fuel it also contains sugars which will burn and stick to the inside of your engine not a good idea just run without a body or pull the truck up to you now and then to see how much is in the tank

All the other videos were just what I had on hand that was already mixed. I usually always run 10% in anything that isn't a ABN sleeve or airplane engine. ABN sleeve engine i run around 15% oil airplane engines 20% oil all ABC engines 10% oil

I used paint thinner from big box store. Pretty much the same as Methyl Hydrate in fact it is MH. Only$17CAN per gallon.

Great question! To be honest with you I have no idea but you could always try to mix some with methanol say a few ounce of each and see what happens. if it's petroleum-based it will separate. Dose not work. You need klotz castor oil or klotz super techniplate oils they are designed for that. This is with drug store castor oil is last resort fuel people that cannot get those oils. I have many other videos explaining it

90/10 for cars and trucks 80/20 for airplanes they is absolutely no benefits going higher than 12% oil for rc cars also don't use what i was using for oil it gets very sticky this was a just for fun video or only if you can't get anything else use a good quality oil like klotz super technplate it's ment for rc engines if you are going to be adding nitromethane the mixture will be 60% methanol 30% nitro 10% oil. Or 70% methanol 20% nitro 10% oil

@@moexotics5206 if you live in the USA you can order Bones brew fuel right to your door. 3 gallons of 30% nitro for 90 $. Trust me the 0% nitro requires a lot of nonsense to run properly like shiming and different glow plugs

The mixture itself is very easy I will say to use an actual good quality Castor oil instead of the stuff from the drugstore because it could separate and it gets very sticky overtime it's not really the best thing it's a last resort you want klotz super technplate or klotz Castor oil Now you can use the methanol from Canadian tire it's often not the best but it works if that's all you can get optionally if you can get racing grade methanol it's more pure and much better you also will need a hot glow plug depending on your engine will either B and OS LC3 or OS A3 The tunein will be more sensitive to weather change but if you know what you are doing it's not really that big of a deal oftentimes in you 1st start with 0% the settings will be extremely rich and you will need to lean it out some Another option is if you do have a bottle of store bought fuel is just add smalle amounts into your 0% mixture for better tuning using it like an additive The oils both can be found on eBay or Amazon they are a little bit pricey but definitely worth it Hopefully that helps I did make another video explaining most of this

Thanks I am going to get the klotz but I'm looking at a long wait before I can get it until then I will be trying your castor oil from the hardware store with methyl hydrate do you think if I run a tank of 30% Nitro after using this it would help the engine clean itself out I'm just wondering I'm experimenting looking to find the cheapest most efficient way to run my Nitros

@@samsara3362 Yeah go for it but I will say what you can do is just run frequently and will keep it from getting sticky if you park it for say a week at a time at least used some sort of after an oil even Little bit of transmission fluid will be OK

Well to twist your mind a little bit there is no such thing as a Nitro engine they don't exist what you're seeing made in the video is what's referred to as glow fuel which has just 2 ingredients these engines do not require Nitromethane to run. And yes I have several videos running 0% nitro in 3.3 engines you will need an OS LC3 glow plug klotz super techniplate oil and methanol. In a 90/10 mix all mixtures will be done in fluid ounces. Very important. You will need to tune a little bit leaner and make your idle gap bigger and that's about it. It won't make as much power as 20% nitro but still plenty power for bashing.

If you got absolutely nothing else then yes you can!

@@thebug4046 ok , thanks I was able to find a gallon of 10% omega and have been mixing that 50/50 with the last gallon of 50% boat fuel I have here and it works fine .I checked the oil composition of both fuels and they were compatible so I went for it. I guess I could buy another gallon of say omega 5% if the oil content is similar and add it to my 35% and get two gallons of 20 .The 35 has been purchased years ago and still fresh and sealed but i feel i' just wasting the 35% nitro in a sport plane.Thanks for your reply.Im out east in NewBrunswick BTW

@@terrymunn1224 omega 10% is 17% oil so whatever the boat fuel is your probably in the 20% oil and 45% nitro area lol not a good idea to mix them if you can help it because You can wind up with unknown percentages and it can end up being very damaging to your engine depending on how it's shimmed etc. If it's a engine you don't care about then absolutely but I wouldn't do it to anything you care about

As long as it's captain an air tight container it will last basically forever. When you mix racing Castor oil with methanol or gasoline and it gets cold enough and can separate so occasionall you want to shake your fuel to be sure that it's thoroughly blended.

Nope. it actually comes from a plant. I used to grow organic castor plants years ago for oil for health and food protection. A quick Google search will show you what a castor plant looks like often quite big plants

this is a last resort fuel if you literally can't get anything else. what I would suggest doing is getting klotz super techniplate oil It won't varnish your engine and it tunes a lot better just keep in mind as fuel does not tune as easily and is more sensitive to weather. Run a hot glow plug OS LC3 and pull a head shim or two depending on how many are in their. If it has 4 pull 2. It's 13oz fluid ounces to a a gallon of methanol. Food grade castor oil can have other stuff in it and you will have to clean your engine a lot or it will get to sticky to run. Also we pay 70 a gallon for 30% nitro i run mostly small block engines so i don't burn a lot of fuel. Klotz super techniplate oil is available on Amazon or ebay if you live in the USA. Maxima castor 927 works great as well as blendzall original green label castor oil And the needle settings will probably a lot leaner but you will have to tune for your environment it will be different for me than it is for you

@@thebug4046 using maxima 927 castor and home depot methanol works out to about $12.00 CAD for a quart thats half price compared to 20% nitro. so if it runs ok i will be happy. Have just watched your video of you running a buggy on this fuel and it seems to run fine. I am only bashing so high performance is not an issue. one last question does it affect the life of the glow plug. Just as a side note back in England in the 60s we used to run control line planes using 0% nitro without problems. You can actually buy 0% pre made at some hobby shops still It's just a little more sensitive in car engines. But for bashing and messing around it's good enough

IPA alcohol doesn't work. Not the correct type of alcohol. You need methanol. And you don't need all castor oil you can use klotz super techniplate oil witch is 80% synthetic 20% castor oil.

You can't buy 100% alcohol it doesn't exist in daily life. Unless it's kept chemically dry out of air. Any methanol or nitromethane or rc fuel in general will always be 99.9% all alcohol will pull water out the air. If you have have left your fuel open for a long period of time an hour for example it has now pulled some moisture from the air. Nothing you can do about it. The only way you will rust the engine is by plugging the exhaust to shut it down and leaving it witch again pulls water out of the are and becomes corrosive. Always run your engines out of fuel until no start and they are fine to sit like that for a few months before you need storage oil aka after run oil.

@@redraider7614 heet yellow bottle only! You will need enough to fill a 1qt rc fuel bottle then 4 fluid ounces castor oil. Add oil first add some methanol shake it them top off your bottle. If you are using food grade castor oil you will need to clean your engine a lot because if you let it sit the engine will get very sticky. You will need to run a hot glow plug and tune it leaner to make it run. It will be more sensitive to tuning. This is really only a last resort if you can't buy rc fuel. It's not any cheaper. If you do decide you want to run only 0% nitro it's 12.8oz oil per gallon and order klotz super techniplate oil it's designed for nitro rc engines and doesn't get sticky. It's also a lot lighter and tunes better

You can but cut back on the oil because to much oil isn't actually doing you any favors you really don't want more than 12% oil if you can help it. This is a last resort fuel if you absolutely cannot get anything else. Avoid the drug store Castor oil it falls out of suspension sometimes or won't mix well with other oils and you will ruin your fuel. If you run say klotz super technplate and a race grade methanol it works pretty good you can go with 8% oil and use your 20% as a aditive if you want or since your in Texas order bones brew on the internet and you can get a hold case to your door for 95$ ps avoid Traxxas fuel its garbage same with any basher fuel is garbage stick with a race blend.

Nitromethane is added to increase timing and performance but is not necessary. There is really no such thing as nitro engines

I can't really help you with that depending on where you live it might be even illegal like it as here to buy 100% pure Nitro.. this process is only if you can't get any fuel at all! It's absolutely not worth your time or money. This is what is called original glow fuel nitromethane is not required to make these engines run. But again it's not cheaper and with drug store castor oil you have to clean your engine all the time because it gets sticky

You can order 3 gallons online if you live in the estates from bones brew motorsports for a 95 bucks as a lot cheaper than trying to make it try to make it will cost you 5 times as much
