Great build! I think I'd also add a shelf across the leg braces to store all the welding related accessories, including the welder itself. So you can have a self contained welding cart.

Nice table, i like the idea. Did you ever fully weld the top tubes, or did you just leave them tack welded? I'm guessing maybe you wanted to leave them as easily replaceable. Also, with that big of a span between the legs, and no cross supports, have you noticed any sag over time? Thanks!

@MaverickProjectsOfficial
@MaverickProjectsOfficial 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your positive comment !!! Its not good idea to use 100x20mm its better to use 100x30mm because the heat of welding can give a bent on tubing and if you want to be sure you can use 3 or 4 mm tubing If you are not a beginner you know what im saying. This table is useful for everyone whos make stuff at Home .

This is a great build to be sure and I will probably be building it myself however I'm not really sure if the phrase "low budget" is a proper description. I mean it's less than the cost of a store bought table the same size but pricing it out quick and even using hot rolled mild steel it's a bit pricey.
@lazar2175
@lazar2175 3 жыл бұрын
Hmm, here where i live, this would be around €50-€100 worth of materials. I'd use hot rolled square steel too, just make sure it's 3mm+ thick or it will warp from heat. If you want to save some money you could use either used tubing, worksites often have some from when they rip up scaffolding or you could use old car leaf springs for the top but that's not really a begginer project, you'll probably need an acetylene torch and other heavy duty equipment.

I had a customer who wanted me to make a welding table like yours and he wanted it painted Red. I told him numerous times that welding tables are not meant to be painted at all and he won't be able to get a good ground / weld if he paints any parts of it. Well He insisted, I paint it and low and behold, he complained about what I said what would happen. So he wanted me to strip all of the paint off and at an extra charge I did and now he's happy. Point being, although it looks nice, it's not very practical to paint any parts of a welding/ fabrication table.

Its big mistake to paint working surface on welding table. If anyone want to paint the top have to try high temperature color but I m not sure if its work. I didn't paint the top because I have stick welding and I need to clean the spatter after every work. Thanks for your comment patrick.
