I just got all my bed rooms done in Luxury vinyl the hallway up stairs the steps ii custom painted the whole house first the vinyl planks upstairs are a light grey i’m trying to remember the exact color My family room I painted white with white base boards and I got luxury vinyl in the family room I got that room done in black planks I watched a few contractors that I always watch when I’m going to do some work to my home that do really great work and I wanted to find out more info about the luxury vinyl planks so I watched some videos on what brands are good brands and I found out the Life Proof the 22Mil was a good brand from Home Depo I had to order what I needed because of how much I needed and I was doing a lot of work I wanted to make sure I got the right stuff I found out this stuff a lot of people are going with low you’re a vinyl flooring because it’s last Ypu lady’s did a great job 👍👍👍👍

Unless you have the type with beveled edges; the seams should be barely visible. This means you didn't "lock" the tongue and groove in all the way. This will not only reduce the waterproofing but eventually, as with all "floating" floor installations, when the floor settles over time, tiles will come loose.

There are unsightly gaps all the way round, except for the before and after pics of the bedroom, and that is because the skirting was placed over the top at the end.

Measure the length and width of your room, multiply them together to get the square footage total.

The first video showed a blue kind of tarp they put down first I am assuming helps make it so the water doesn't get through without that step I am worried also that water would get through

It's unneeded. LVP is 100% waterproof. Water isn't getting through that. Maybe along the edges it could possibly get under the floor but honestly this "vapor barrier" wouldn't stop that anyways. They didn't need that, it's for concrete subflooring.

I’m worried that water will sip under the flooring and stay there longer than you want. The bottom of the flooring looks like it could absorb water.

I'm a flooring contractor. Every option has it's pros and cons. Water won't "seep" between it and the pad won't absorb water. The only access for water is the perimeter which is true for all flooring. If you're house floods there will be problems with any floor. You can pour water on this floor or have a spill sitting that you didn't notice and the floor will be fine.

Right after discussing the staggering of planks the video close up pans over an area that displays an unengaged area. The locking mechanism is not engaged properly there.

LVP = 100% waterproof. Great for kitchens full baths and basements.

Then you got a poor quality product or poor quality install. Don't cheap out and buy a 6mil LVP, they're crap. You should do a 12mil or higher.

You have to use that moisture barrier, otherwise in the event of a leak in your bathroom, your insurance in invalid.
